What a load of utter cobblers. We are a club people come to because of the wages we pay. Pure and simple. If another club in this county or abroad, paid better, then these players would go there unless it was in a right **** hole that they didn't want to live in/near.

Out of interest, was there a particular reason for him releasing a statement other than to try and portray himself as the good guy in all this and Saints as sinners?
-
Why is that so many people think that football players are incapable of having another career when they hang their boots up, be it when time calls or prematurely?
-
Can you expand?
-
Sell to who? If reports are to be believed, no one has put a bid in. And are you advocating just selling to any old bidder who happens to put in a what they want to pay or what the club wants?
-
So Einstein, if the offer comes in tens of millions less than it should or what is wanted, the club should just accept it and write it off hey?
-
And to have his agent's licence suspended.
-
It is a ****ing funny statement tbh. He has put in a transfer request because the club intend to fine him 2 weeks wages. Did he really write that?? As it is, it is an intention - far better to wait until it has actually happened. His agent, who obviously wrote it, comes across as being as thick as a typical football player, which if I was VVD, I would be a wee bit concerned about.

"their inability to follow the correct disciplinary protocol" Nice one Virgil. I guess you are at least quite amusing with your irony. Following the correct protocol. LOL

Hahaha. That really is the most lame "statement" I have ever read.

If I was Barca, I would take Hazard over Coutinho.

Pied?

If I was Klopp I would seriously try and mend bridges with Sakho.

By who? Us or WHU?

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/10977675/jurgen-klopp-satisfied-with-liverpools-defensive-options So the **** is happy with the 4 CBs he has (5 if you include Sakho). Who is he trying to kid? All that has happened is that Liverpool have come in, turned a players head, ****ed off and left SFC in a worse position. What a bunch of ****s LFC are.
-
the thing is, SFC do not need to make up their minds. Why should they? To help out Liverpool or any other suitor? I know that when Quim is there, objectivity is zero, but it also hides Brazil's lack of objectivity as well. He's just like the rest - only interested in the big teams. Maybe it makes him feel important. And as it is, I thought that it was a little obvious that we had made up our minds and VVD et al were not for sale. Its been said a fair few times. That people aren't listening to SFC is their problem.

Are these West Ham fans the same that were ecstatic when they signed Fonte?
-
I disagree. Charlie Austin is possibly the most attractive in Europe. Ah well, at least our fan base is pretty much all connected to the area and city. Can't accuse us of having many glory hunters now, can you? Liverpool on the other hand, most of its fan base are tourists who have never been within 100 miles of Liverpool. But I really do find all these "our club is much better than yours" arguments a little strange. I'm sure Liverpool is all you say, but so what? Are we all supposed to abandon supporting Saints and support Liverpool?
-
I don't care too much if he makes the odd mistake. As JBJ says, he is young and learning. But what he is, what he stands for, is far more important. He is a player who has a connection to the club, and that to me, is hugely important. It really struck me when we played City last season. I got wondering what the City supporters must think when they field 11 foreign players, none with link to the club other that recently signing for the schilling they get. It makes the game far too soulless. I realise that is the way the modern game has gone, and the big boys can afford to just go out and buy what they need. To me the best season we have had recently was the one with Poch where we had 5 or more home grown players on the pitch. I think that in one game, we used 7. Brilliant it was. So Matt T, local boy, coming through his local club's academy to play in the 1st XI. That's what football should retain. I'm not saying that this is anything unique, but it doesn't happen enough.

Fonte has been really really badly advised from a playing perspective, and the future that was stated that he could have at Staplewood after he hung his boots up. But then on the other hand, he has been very well advised with a higher wage, or was it similar, for longer. Will he be happy warming the bench and trotting out for League Cup games?
-
Interesting though as one or two are saying Everton/Arsenal targeted him. The rest say we are pipping Stoke.
-
Do you know what, all this conditional crap from players is really ****ing boring.
-
Who would he be replacing? Davis/JWP? Or Classie/PEH?
-
Never heard of him (but that's not saying much). Is he any good and worth getting excited about?
