  1. Not difficult. £75m will probably do it. Take it or leave it. Seems LFC want to pressure us into selling, although they seem not to understand we don't want to.
  2. You could possibly put both Austin and Gabiaddini in that bargain category esp when it is the most over priced position there is.
  3. and what happens when a club doesn't want to meet our asking price?
  4. Mail says we are after the Alaves CB for €3m
  5. I turn up to support the team, but I also turn up to be entertained. If there was no entertainment value what so ever, why would you turn up? Thinking about last season, probably the most enjoyable game at SMS was the U23 match vs ManU. Surprised that there weren't that many there to support the team. Bloody plastics.
  6. It's OK, as it goes on the whole time.
  7. for the non hip on the forum, do we treat snapchat, and indeed all "social media" in the same way as Twitter and the subliminal messages that it sends out?
  8. 22k STs 3k away leaves 6k match by match tickets How many games are sell out where we are getting 31.5k? Not many really. There seems to be high 30k but that might be down to segregation or the way of counting attendances (ie the ticket might be sold but not used for the game). Meaningful expansion would have to be 5k minimim, more like 8-10k. Would we get crowds that big (and if so, would they improve the foot bridge over the railway?)?
  9. Until something is done, I am not going to get too over excited. A lot of sh*t being flung in the attempts for some of it to stick. The amount flung, you would expect some to stick. This is prime click bait season.
  10. Can anyone really afford to sign a decent player from another PL team? Should make certain club's recruitment policy a little better, unless they do a Chelsea and sign about 300 players and send them out on loan.
  11. While it might transpire to be so, can you point out where Reed has lied?
  12. Now this £25m is a figure others have come up with, not SFC. Its like VVD, LFC and £50m. All rather meaningless without getting our agreement. TalkSport were quoting £30m and the dipsomaniac added "it looks like he's off to City" as if it is a fait accompli.
  13. What I was thinking and whether it was going to be a definite signing like Quim said it was going to be.
  14. Marseille have him as their number 1 target.
  15. why do you think it is Reed who is selling the players? The Chairman came out earlier and said that for the first time there was no need to sell players, which rather suggests that the orders were coming from higher up the chain. Have you ever thought that the owner might have a say in the finances of the club and the part that player sales have in it?
  16. Ah but the "supporter" is vital. These are the ones who go to the grounds and give atmosphere. Without the supporters, televised games in empty stadia isn't a great spectacle. The "consumer" based in whatever far (or near) flung corner of the world they may be in, is the one being chased as the "supporter" is somewhat of a captive audience. And what is easier to sell to the consumer - Palace vs Saints or Liverpool vs Man Utd. And the consumer likes the big player. They like a winner. The PL likes the top 6. They like the mini league at the top as, while I still think it a little silly that only a few can win (rather than all), it is more interesting than leagues that have 1-3 teams that win it year in, year out.
  17. The PL needs the "glamour" clubs to sell the product overseas. Liverpool are the 2nd biggest glamour club (after Man Utd, although some no doubt would prob argue that their appeal overseas is bigger) and hitting them with a punishment that would harm their competitiveness would not be good for the PL's business.
  18. You might note that in all these articles, £70-75m isn't mentioned. £50-60m is and that a deal is still on the cards. But there is an arrogance (?) that seems to disregard our asking price and that it is all but a fait accompli.
  19. There's a certain amount of hypocrisy to your post
  20. Has anyone said that Redknapp wrote anything wrong? No, not in the slightest. And this "some of our fans are too precious" is something that really should be left in the playground. So before you cast aspersions, wouldn't it be best to make sure that people have actually done what you accuse them of?
  21. If they want to sign a right back, why would they be looking at Bertrand who is a left back?
  22. Well Redknapp Jr says he's off, so I guess he is. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/628852/Southampton-Virgil-van-Dijk-Liverpool-Jurgen-Klopp-Jamie-Redknapp Of course, no mention of the financial side of things, as obviously that is unimportant and LFC will pay what they want.
  23. Mané was a miss, there is no doubt. But trying to look on the bright side of things for the forthcoming season, I am hoping that there are significant improvements in certain players. Long being one of them, although hoping that he is suddenly going to materialise into a 20 goal a season striker is a little optimistic to say the least! But I still can't understand how we played him. I think possibly his best game he has had for us was possibly the 4-0 Arsenal boxing day game. Then there were a lot of balls played over the top for him to run on to which he did brilliantly. Last season, you could see him straining on the leash waiting for those same balls to come over the top, but instead they went out to the wings. He often got caught off side when this happened as well. So whose "fault" was that? I am presuming the manager instructed us to play out wide, so it is a bit unfair to blame Long for a poor season when the system wasn't taking into account his strengths. He is a frustrating finisher as you know that he can put them away. The goal at Anfield in the EFL was a pretty decent finish, and he did get goal of the season 2014/15 with the one against Villa. I am also thinking Tadic, Forster, Boufal, Hojbjerg in particular have more to show this season than last. Boufal maybe a little harsh as it must be hard coming into a team half way through the season post his injury, but I am very much looking forward to seeing what he can offer, and just hope that he doesn't try and do too much. Hojbjerg - no idea what happened to him. His first couple of appearances he looked really good with a lot of intelligence, but seemed to fizzle away.
  24. DM and a creative CM/AM.
  25. What, like Forster 2015/16? No idea what happened to him last year.
