But Trousers, don't shoot the messenger! These things can fall apart as quick as they start but only time will tell!

Well if we haven't weakened the squad and upgraded the manager.......

Depends how strong he is. He's 6'4", same as Pelle, so if he has the strength to hold off players, then he might be alongside Gabbi/Austin rather than cover for them.

Backroom staff, all those in favour..Hands up for Sammy Lee

If you are happy to change browser to Opera, they have an option to use an inbuilt VPN. Sometimes it drops speed, sometimes it is quicker. Guess it depends on what you initially get - I get pretty crap speeds at the best of times. Not tried streaming the footy yet.

They don't have to sell. They have a choice. Maybe their objectives have changed. They were looking to be a Champions League club, I believe.

300 of them?

Don't think Polar Bears do, but I might be wrong. ☺

Can we finish higher than eighth in the 2017-18 season?

I have a feeling we are going to surprise everyone and finish top 2 ☺ -

If Everton think anyone is going to stump up £50m for Barkley, then either they or mad or the whole world of football is mad. Or maybe both.

I in no way look at Everton with any envy what so ever. What are they doing that is so good? Signing lots of players who have absolutely zero connection with the club. In fact, I reckon if they do manage to push Barkley out the door, then they will be down to one player that they have brought through - Davies. Do you want Saints to field a team that is entirely made up of those that are shipped in? I don't. There is a happy medium to be had, and having 3 or 4 is OK with me. I didn't like the way Koeman cut out all the youngsters when he was here, even if he likes to pretend he brought through 6 or 7. That is actually true that he did, if you count giving them a minute or 2 here or there to be "bringing them through". They may well have a good manager, save for what I consider to be that rather large flaw, but how do you know how good ours is? Personally would have Poch back before Koeman. But taking our crown as "best of the rest". WTF are you on? Everton have always been best of the rest!! Sure, teams have sticky patches, and in the late 1990s they weren't great. But since 2000 (when they were still crap), they have finished - 16, 15, 7, 17, 4, 11, 6, 5, 5, 8, 7, 7, 6, 5, 11, 11, 7

I guess that they might try and get your ISP to cut their service to you, so a VPN might be best but even then are they going to bother?

I guess it might be dumb phraseology if you don't understand it. But it's no big deal.

I wonder how many youngsters are going to feature? Seems Everton are becoming yet another club that just buys players in, although unlike the Man Citys of this world, at least some are English. I would love to see the rules changed to make home grown players feature more, plus some having to have come through the club's academy. Otherwise football just becomes an exercise in who can spend the most, which it pretty much where we have got to now. The argument seems to be "oh but how are PL teams going to be able to compete in the CL?" So we bastardise a competition that the many can play in for the benefit of the few who can get to CL - brilliant!

Cross is one of those reporters who seems to try and curry favour with the big clubs, at the expense of journalistic integrity (lacking impartiality, or at least slanting things so far one way), so I think that I probably agree with your summation of him. Still quite a long way to go to overtake Samuels in the helmet stakes.

Glasgow, does this mean that you are going to go and support Everton and leave us all in peace?

Pah, Twitter. You need a double page spread in the Echo.
