  1. Stats are wonderful aren't they? You can choose which ones you want. I prefer to choose the one where we have twice as many clean sheets as Chelsea and 1 fewer than the best defence in the league.
  2. 9 clean sheets in 21 games since vD injured (inc the match he was injured in). Is that bad? looking at the Champions of England, they have kept 5 clean sheets in the last 21. And Spurs - don't they have the best defence in the league? They have 10 clean sheets in the last 21 games.
  3. Basically the market is such, that you do not want to buy another player from a PL side as it will cost you an astronomical amount if they are half decent. Think more along the lines of £45m for Siggurdson, £30m for Pickford (and yes, I know he came from a relegated side) rather than £15m for JRod (who was priced due to risk).
  4. I love this bit from the Standard....The champions think Southampton could be persuaded to agree a transfer for between £15-£20m.
  5. PS - I've had to turn talkSport off. "It's imperative that we sign vD" blah blah blah.
  6. I have transgressed into finding the squeaky Quim and all the cockney supporting Liverpool fans quite amusing. [Jim White had a good one yesterday about supporters not having any connection what so ever with the club they so called support]. It is funny that they are still going on and on and on about signing vD.
  7. I had Lord Duckhunter down as Rupes at one stage, but as old Rupey boy told me, he wasn't shooting ducks, it was partridge so then realised he must be an impostor.
  8. I'm sure a lot of clubs would want him for £15m. (Don't they have any decent RBs in their 25235089750 loanees?)
  9. Sarcasm is hard to detect on a forum. Needs more exclamation marks!!!!!!!
  10. Nah, don't buy it this time. Ralph's language was very different. He said something along the lines that this year we didn't need to sell, and wouldn't not even for £60m. The interesting bit was the "this year" (or whatever his words were). I'd far rather believe others who say it was a twitter thing that seems to have transcended complete bolløcks and mutated into (so called) fact.
  11. I was a wee bit bored at work, so went over to the dark side for a gander. They seem to think that we saw/heard messages on a phone that was used by vD and that the only way that it could be is if it was a company phone, which the club has legit access to. I think that thy need to call Mulder & Scully to get to the bottom of things. One thing that I am curious about...they keep on going on about how we gave permission for vD to meet LFC in Blackpool. Apparently we are annoyed because he came out and said that that was his preferred destination and that we couldn't instigate a bidding war. 1) Why would we sign someone to a 6 year contract and then look to sell him straight away., ie why would we give permission for him to go to these meetings. 2) If we did why would there be any grounds for a complaint, and subsequently an apology 3) Has vD ever come out and said publicly that LFC is his preferred destination, as all I have seen is the Liverpool press saying so.
  12. No prophet is accepted in his hometown.
  13. Will it change anything?? Last minute signings are still going to exist, and still going to shaft clubs in trying to get replacements in. Whether they have played a game or two isn't really going to make much difference.
  14. I wonder when the penny will drop with Liverpool and their fans? That is unless they drop about 10 billion pennies (that's £100m for those who can't work it out).
  15. That's fine by me, as I have no interest in helping City develop one of their players. If they want him to get PL experience then they should play him in their team. As it is, I don't think that PL clubs should be able to loan players to/from other PL teams.
  16. I presume with 20% she will retain a seat on the board and will be there throughout the transitional period (however long that may be).
  17. This doesn't really make a whole lot of sense seeing as the Liebherrs no longer wanted to be in charge, and it was them who wanted out rather that "our more unrealistic fans".
  18. What I like about ML and then KL's tenure is that they had faith in their acquisition. We weren't in a good place, but then we weren't expensive in the scheme of things either. It was taken under their wing, some money was spent and we are where we are. Excellent owners.
  19. SS, really. Where would you upgrade, as I think SMS is in pretty good condition, at least in Kingsland it is.
  20. LOL OK - it came across differently.
  21. Is the signing of a €20m player not significant? Maybe, but then again, if you splash a lot of cash, you aren't going to want to sell your crown jewels if your intention is to push ahead. Non-sequitur.
  22. According to Forbes in the "Business of Soccer" bit, $107m, which using the same FX rate that they use for the "team value", is just shy of £84m https://www.forbes.com/teams/west-ham-united/
  23. Great investment by her old man.
  24. Tell that to Arsenal. They take in £100m a year from match day revenue.
