The one positive from last night was getting away from the Mrs. for a few hours.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4816430/Bournemouth-readying-26m-bid-Gray-plus-add-ons.html £26m + add ons!! Say £30m then!!

Very strange. No idea why we paid £2.5m to Gillingham, who got him on a free the season before and where he played 22 games (letting in 29 goals and keeping 8 clean sheets). No idea why MoPo thinks he's good enough for Spurs.

Born in Hampshire in the 70s, lived here up until the early 90s, before working abroad and still not heard it. The Youtube clip brings no memories of it either.

WTF is the tune of the old Paultons Park advert???

I got to "pay to play with big clubs" and gave up with your diatribe. We hold his registration. We don't need to pay.
-
Situation hasn't really changed. His value won't change if we sell him now or in January or at the end of the season. No point accepting a huge bid now, as not enough time to invest it.

Not have as much as this one........http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/639315/Virgil-van-Dijk-Liverpool-Southampton-Sky-Sports-Premier-League-Transfer-News-Gossip

Am I alone in thinking that now, more than a week after being purchased, that it is a little strange that we have still yet to see or hear anything from the new owner? It's like the takeover never actually happened. Or has he/they come out and said hello and I've missed it?

To a certain extent it is easy for "journalists" [sic] to pump out any old shît about a Saints player being bought by a big boy. In seasons past, the chances of it happening were pretty high and therefore the believabilty of the current story might also be quite high. That it might be based on nothing other than conjecture is neither here nor there. It fills column inches/gets clicks. QED.

Cue the stories about vD being sold now that we have "his replacement" in.
-
TV money largely goes on wages. Look at our accounts - are we raking in huge profits? No , IIRC we had a £4.5m post tax profit and this is on the back of player sales.

Aguero saw him coming and moved his foot into the path of Morgan.

I find Bournemouth quite interesting and wonder how they balance the books. This season it is £30m, last season only £15m but the season before £49m. So add in add-ons and agents fees, and that would be well over £100m in 3 years.

It's an impressive feat to make the Mail look Shakespearean in quality, but that is what the Express does. (Well it doesn't really as the Mail is **** as well, just not as **** as the Express)

There was one hell of a fit bird in row FF Block 29.

The only question really is whether McCarthy is better than Forster.
-
7) Forster and Hart do themselves few favours Fraser Forster and Joe Hart could end up doing Jack Butland’s work for him at this rate, ahead of the World Cup in Russia next year, with neither goalkeeper covering themselves in glory at St Mary’s. West Ham’s porous defence hardly helped Hart, now beaten seven times in just two matches, but he again looked a shadow of his former dominating self. Forster was oddly rewarded with a shiny new five-year deal in July despite a shaky time last term. In fairness to Forster, he made a superb save to deny Diafra Sakho before Javier Hernández swept home his second goal and credit must go to the West Ham striker for reacting quickest inside the box. But there is no doubt that the giant 6ft 7in goalkeeper is not quite at his formidable best. The Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, another option for England, could also jump in front of the pair in the pecking order. Ben Fisher https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2017/aug/21/premier-league-10-talking-points-weekends-action Can't disagree with this, although I think it a little harsh to wonder why he was given a 5 year extension.

and you can add that Boufal, when he does lose the ball, works damned hard to win it back. I rather hoped that he would have replaced Tadic, who isn't quite as good as he thinks he is.

At least these clappy things are an attempt to up things. How do you get the Chapel more animated??
-
Blocks 30/31 (and maybe 32) of the Kingsland is rather disapproving of anyone singing!! 29 isn't much better. Chapel is just like one and that to me is the biggest disappointment. The centre is where the older lot sit. Behind the goals is the younger, noisier lot. Northam does its bit. Chapel doesn't.
