  1. Lyon supporters thought that we were mad to pay £8m and were delighted with the business. Without going into revisionism, I think we all thought that he was an excellent buy and were ****ed off with his head in Liverpool actions. Lyon were gobsmacked that we managed to sell him for £20m. It is only since his crap displays at Liverpool, that we have now turned around and said he is rubbish, which he is. Certainly we would not want him back, which apart from Lambert, you can't say about any other player that we sold to Liverpool. But really, Klopp has made a monumental **** up with the CBs. They had a perfectly decent one in Sakho who he flogged even after not being able to land his one and only target, who they didn't even submit a bid for. (Apparently they are now after de Vrij)
  2. Wow. Top defending by Lovren.

There seemed to be a certain amount of revisionism about his departure. He said that he was unmotivated and had other things he wanted to do (personal ones that he didn't want to talk about).

Only not interested because of the calibre of Matt's call. If someone had asked proper questions, and that includes Jim "I'm your best buddy" White, then it would have been a lot better.

Not that I am particularly interested, but apart from Matt, were there any other callers??
  6. Is that any different from his usual style? He has always come across as being somewhat languid.

    The sycophancy is cringe worthy.

The only ones who didn't were those that seemed to think that ML's legacy/investment was for the benefit of Southampton rather than to his daughter.

FFS, going on about vD. White is a complete and utter tool.

Matt - I had hoped it was going to be Le Tiss. Instead, we got a knob jockey.

Yup. How tough it was and how great he is.

It's very hard work!! White is one of the worst interviewers I've ever heard.

He said never say never. Something got triggered when he spoke to old colleagues.

Jim White being sycophantic before he even turns up.

Have to agree with the bull's hit, but I guess bull's hit baffles brains and it hasn't done any harm to the club and probably the opposite and helped (a bit!). But I have to question why you think Krueger is involved with the BS? As a chairman of a football club, he is a joke. Maybe that is because I have no idea what he does, nor what his role at the club is. Does anyone know? If I was the new owner, Kreuger would be the first person out of the door, and I would seriously consider approaching NC to see if he would come back. Presumably NC is up to something as why else is he on the radio? If that is the case, then the question is will it be with us or someone else?

You seem to have a rather unique view on what actually happened. When the person whose money he was spending wanted to have their own person on the board to keep an eye on how the money was being spent, NC threw a paddy and resigned. Who knows, maybe the new owners want their own man on the board, and NC could be that man.
  17. I wonder who is going to score first - the team or me with my Mrs???
  18. And pray tell, how do you think he is going to improve if you never play him?
  19. I blame poor supporters like you
  20. Could you play Tadic & Boufal on the wings (swapping over as they like to do) with Redmond in the Nº10 role rather than keeping him on the wing? He seems to be able to run at players better than anyone else, apart from maybe Boufal, but unlike Boufal tends to keep the ball longer.
  21. Les had more games, but managed 14 Nov 2006 > 24 Dec 2006 somewhat less than 77 days.
  22. Not sure he had enough time to show what he can produce. Obv not totally inept, as his time in Holland shows. Inter went bad, but maybe that was ego and things don't always click. Has he totally lost the dressing room at Palace? Is that the main reason for sacking him as after 4 games is frankly ridiculous. When Koeman left, I thought that he might have been quite good for us. No idea why, save for his time at Ajax and his playing reputation. I can understand that the Inter job was a lot bigger, and I thought that he could have been a replacement for Puel. Guess they will start scoring in their next game!!!!!!
  23. Mostly jerks.
  24. Seeks publicity for himself?? He is the face of the club so is present in pictures of players signing. So what? We could have the owner, the chairman, the director of football or the manager. The owner is anonymous. The chairman is as well, or maybe you would prefer the Dildo Bothers. So that leaves the DoF or manager or no one. Bit unfriendly to have no one, and the way the club signs players, it is natural to have DoF there. Is that really all you now have to whinge and bîtch about? If so, then Les is doing a good job.
  25. Mr F, maybe but I don't wholly buy that. If you are a good AM, then you stay on the pitch. I took as an example, Frank Lampard (the first one to pop into my head) and looked at him in the 2003/4 season when he was 25 (Gaston is currently 26) to see how often he played. Lampard started all 38 PL games. He played every minute of every game bar 4 where he did 78 mins, 65 mins, 86 mins and 89 mins. He also played all 90 mins in the 4 FA Cup games they had that season. He was missed out in the EFL Cup. In the 14 CL games, he played all 90 mins in 12 of them and two of them he played 45 mins (once subbed in, once out when they were so far ahead in the qualifying rounds). It was a similar picture for the next season (where he played even more minutes in the PL and CL)
