I look at Palace...8k seats for £100m. I then look at SMS, which while it might be identikit, was built at a very decent price. No idea what the cost of adding an upper tier is, but as it has already been "built in" that expansion is an easy-ish exercise, then I cannot imagine that it would be too much.

Used to live 10 mins walk from there. Always found it to be a nice traditional ground, and a club with nice fans.

Is it just me who sees a bit of Teddy Sheringham in Austin? Not the quickest player in the world, although I think Austin is quicker than he looks and quicker than Clever Teddy, but reads the game well and gets that yard of space in the box that allows him to score.

I caught a bit of talkSport earlier this morning. Jim White, Ray Parlour and someone else. First caller was a City ST holder who lambasted us for the way we played and how bad we were for football. Jim White said what a great call. Ray Parlour and the other bloke, took White to task and said what rubbish and it wasn't up to Saints to provide entertainment for City supporters. What the City caller obv doesn't realise is that the unchecked spending by City is bad for football.

It's risible isn't it?

The problem with City fans, is that their lack of intelligence is shining through. You do not go head to head in the same manner as a stronger opponent. They can whinge as much as they like that we didn't allow them to play their normal free flowing game but that would just show their ignorance and detachment from reality. I am sure that if we had had a net spend of £600m over the past 5 years like City, we could have been less defensive.

We didn't expect to get anything from the game. We didn't points wise, but I think we sure did for the team's belief.

Aye. There seems little point in playing to City's strengths. If we get a point, then I think we'll be happy. If we manage to catch them on the break, or more realistically from a corner, then........!!

Not sure on the evidence so far, that the manager can be criticised for his tactics. Maybe a little negative, but realistic.
