  1. Dead cat bounce.
  2. That may be so, and I agree that he isn't as bad as people make out. BUT.....top 4, maybe PL winners, going to conquer Europe, best manager in the country, bright future, minted owner, blah blah blah. First mistake with the Toffees was to believe the hype about their owner. FGS he was an accountant. They don't become billionaires over night. Then the next problem was thinking that they could buy their way into the top 4, a bit like West Ham think that they can buy their way up the league. Everton have a net spend over the past 5 years of £120m, and if they have managed to flog Ross B (and try they did, damn hard in fact), then that would be nearer £70m. By contrast, Man City have spent nearly £600m net over the past 5 years, of which £300m was since Pep arrived. And of that money spent, we know that it was shockingly badly wasted with no striker. If Sam can get one banging in a few goals, then they might be OK. For Koeman to take their only striker and freeze him out, seemed a little odd. As it is, Sam should be OK, as he has in the past used a 4-6-0 line up, and with the plethora of Nº10s
  3. Interesting odds. ManC 1/5 Draw 6/1 Saints 12/1 Pretty decent odds in a 2 horse race.

    Boufal

I've always thought that he does work much harder than people give him credit. He loses the ball quite a bit - which is hardly surprising as he one that runs at players with the ball - but when he does, he works damn hard to get it back. I liked him being in the centre and having a freer remit to roam. He is the most skillful player we have, so I would give him free rein to do what he likes, although he does tend to gravitate to the wings a bit too much for that. However, that might not be a problem, as our other wingers are seemingly more than happy playing up the middle.
  5. Have to agree with Shurly, even if he was my MOTM yesterday. I never thought PEH showed much in U23 games, and TBH, the opposition was of a better standard that EFC yesterday.
  6. We've got a freebie. No one is expected to beat City, so there is no need to be timid. You just hope that you don't get spanked.
  7. PEH and Hoedt very good. Good passing. More urgency than before, but suspect that Everton made us look good. Good to see CA bag a couple.
  8. Non binary - what a crock of crud. You are XX or XY.
  9. Is Kreuger still at the club???
  10. That's not what they were doing, and well you know that. Clubs for some reason, quite often bring in a minute's applause (never understood why) in place of silence. Maybe, possibly, probably to drown out morons who used to call out. So people are a little simple and carry on with it as if it is the accepted thing. Totally inappropriate in this instance.
  11. Sort of agree, but then you could say that the poignancy of Armistice Day is diluted by remembering it a week in advance. I will be bowing my head and remembering on 11/11 and if I am honest, I really don't need a football club doing it at the wrong time just because it is the closest game to the event. PS - I see St Clark raised this point, to which I agree with him.
  12. You can't reheat a soufflé
  13. I feel a touch of revisionism maybe?? However, I would say that when he did leave, I was happier that it was him that left than Wanyama, but then Vic showed his stroppy side!
  14. I find it hard to find any sympathy with Everton after they gave it the Big I Am when they got Koeman and when they were spnuking the Lukaku cash. Humility was a little lacking, but boy they've come down to earth with a bump.
  15. Norway, that's a load of complete and utter bôllocks. ****ing moron.
  16. In all seriousness what does it matter whether a game is called a derby or not? Why do you worry with how other people see it and call it? As it is, ground to ground, SMS to Amex is 57 miles as the crow flies. Reading FC is 39 miles away and Swindon Town FC is 48 miles away as the crow flies - would you consider them a derby? Or Yeovil Town FC, which is 56 miles away - would that be a derby? Or are you going on about this perceived "a lot of bad blood" (which there really isn't)? If that is the criteria, are our games vs say Liverpool and Spurs derbies? Nonsense thread.
  17. Hey Pluts, not sure what's worse. This. Or that Villa game being a Cat A (as it was last home game of the season).
  18. Tis the time that mushrooms grow and I suspect that it is a bountiful year and someone has been munching a few too many of them.
  19. Will it help us score any goals?
  20. Then it was his fault that he did not change it. If MP fails with scoring more goals, then that too is his fault. Koeman basically got sacked for not replacing Lukaku, and as per the other thread, I asked why no plan B? You can apportion blame to who ever you want, but the hand Puel was dealt??? Me, if I don't like my hand, I try and change it. Pue was appointed at the end of June and had 2 whole months to change things.
  21. It was. Four kids thinking they were funny, when they weren't really. But.....I'm sure if I was 16 or so, I would have found it funny, but as I'm grumpy and middle aged I don't. Was impressed though, that someone was watching CCTV and announced over the PA that they had been spotted.

    Stadium PA

Maybe the speakers are different volumes in different stands. I know that we in the Kingsland had a diabolical PA system up until last year, when you couldn't hear anything. Now its so loud you can't hear yourself think. I certainly can't hear my next door neighbour when we are shouting at each other while trying to have a conversation. So we stand there, looking at each other, waiting for the music (and **** music it is to boot) to finish so we can have a chat. [And as an aside, I am not sure if the club is trying to keep people out of the stands, but the crap Saints song being played 12 mins before KO works on me]
  23. Well OldNick, from a customers' point of view, I found what was on offer last season devoid of any entertainment. Sure we had a win over Inter thanks to an own goal and we had the Cup run, but that all pales into insignificance with the dross in the league. I still cannot get out of my mind the home game against Hull. And that there nearly made me not renew my ST.
  24. Pleased for him. Couldn't give a monkey's if he does well or not.
  25. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5012277/Claude-Puel-involved-discussions-Leicester-coaches.html?offset=0&max=100&jumpTo=comment-250990689#comment-250990689 Seems our other ex manager is in talks and we may see him back in the PL sooner than expected.
