I actually just removed him from ignore as (like I did) people quote him in replies, thus rendering the ignore function a little redundant.
  2. I'd love nothing more than if JWP could produce the goods as Mosin says he is capable of (and that all managers are seemingly blind to!). I think that we all would. But as I stated earlier, 6 years as a (semi) regular, near 200 games under his belt, I just wonder how much time he is going to be given to show his stuff. Some think another 3-5 years before he hits his peak at 25-27 which is fair enough but not sure that will be what all want. He might be kept for years as a squad player, but I suspect he will want to be more regular than that. He does have age on his side.
  3. Mosin, not many are saying he is a **** player, but my my, you don't half spout some utter bôllocks. Are you JWP, friend/family or just infatuated by him?? And love the bit where you say everyone here is a pro manager talking ****, that is apart from yourself isn't it??? As it is, we must have a **** manager if he doesn't build the team around him, and all the managers in the PL and world football must be **** as well, in not trying to buy him and have him as their centre piece to have the team built around. What must the likes of Zidane be doing/thiking if they can't see how good he is????

I do love it when you get all supercilious on the forum, but most people see through your charade.
  5. Cameraman needs replacing.
  6. FFS the papers are going to cream themselves now.
  7. Can't see him being given another 3-5 years unless he provides. The annoying thing is, I think most would see that he is a very skillful player and that it is the application that is lacking a bit.
  8. Highfield, I don't think many are dumping on him because we want to, but because he seems not to be offering a huge amount to the team. As you say, it is one of the toughest leagues in the world, and that means you can't carry passengers. As Saints supporters, I think that bringing through our own has to be one of the highlights, and it seems that with JWP, we might have hit the buffers. Me, I questioned how long you give him to show what he can do. It is easy to forget that he is only 22, but the fact is, he has been semi/regular in the side for 6 years now. How much longer do you give him?
  9. Worrying times for England's Under 21 captain James Ward-Prowse who seems to be falling out of favour under new Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino. The current star product of the club's academy, dragged off at half time during last week's 2-0 home defeat by Watford, played only the final five minutes off the bench in the win at Crystal Palace. After winning a regular place in the team under Claude Puel last season it was the third time he's been left out of a Premier League starting line-up already this season, and he's been taken off early in both his other appearances. It is of course very easy to go into revisionism....... His arrival was important for us. Poch off, half the team off and many wondering what the future held. He was a big name in the footballing world and even those playing now would (or should) have heard of him. His CV was OK as well. Won the Dutch league 3 times and the Copa del Rey. However his league record outside of Holland was pretty average. Frank de Boer by comparison has won the Eredivise four times, and he has an equally poor record outside of Holland. Anyway, his reputation, regardless of how good a manager he is, got us some stability when it so easily could have gone the other way and managed to attract players of a certain calibre. So he was good for us and we were good for him. Everton was perfect for him in his first season. They really should be best of the rest, that is if you consider them being with "the rest". I agree with José and Evertonians. You don't spend £140m or so to stand still. He really should be pressing to be top 4. I know that a lot of that £140m was off set by the income from Lukaku and we all know the glaring **** up with their recruitment - that must be a Liverpool thing. You know where you have to strengthen and you don't, instead buying lots of midfielders.

So Big Ron tells José to pipe down about coming top 4 and that it is not realistic. If so, I have to wonder why he left Saints, apart from the massive increase in pay. Why would he move to Everton if he was just going to be looking to finish at the same level he did with us, especially having spent £140m or so?
  12. A little harsh for the pen, but guess it makes little difference to the result.
  13. You would have thought so, and I would hope a sizeable one as well. But if Barca do come for him, the added bonus will be a very upset Coutinho.
  14. Transfrmarket state £37m (and that would be before add ons).
  15. Just imagine what they would be like with Sammy Lee!?!
  16. Is this possibly the most pathetic headline?? http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/854967/Liverpool-news-Virgil-van-Dijk-Southampton-return-Liverpool-reaction-sportgalleries
  17. LOL. No doubt Jim White will be sucking him off on Monday.
  18. You don't loan players out who have been a (semi) regular for 5 or 6 years.
  19. I'm no body language expert, but he came across as pretty unconvincing.
  20. Sure we are down the scale, but down the scale often means an easier target.
  21. TBH not sure many are slating our forwards for not scoring, as the service they get is woeful. Of the games I've seen, pretty much the only chance created was the one that Gab scored with.
  22. Does anyone ever worry about the rather obvious pinch point at SMS?
  23. Used to be my local station!! Just heard on the radio some ex bomb squad man saying that this looks similar to 7/7 and the failed 21/7 devices, although it could just as well be (at this early stage) be builders and a freak accident.
  24. Popped over to read this.....https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/forums/everton-forum.2/ Quite amusing....seems Koeman's honeymoon is well and truly over.
  25. I like to give all our players a lot of time to prove themselves. JWP has had a lot of PL games to do so.... 12/13 - 15 games - 483 minutes 13/14 - 34 games - 1604 minutes 14/15 - 25 games - 1476 minutes 15/16 - 33 games - 1533 minutes 16/17 - 30 games - 1884 miuntes 17/18 - 4 games - 160 minutes Total 141 games - 7 goals, 18 assists, a goal every 1020 minutes played So the stats show that he has a **** poor goal scoring record. He should be getting at least 7-10 a season. So he is not fulfilling the AM/CM role. He lacks an incisive pass. He generally passes sideways or backwards. He has no pace to beat people. He does not run at people with the ball. He doesn't tackle overly well. He doesn't head the ball. He can sometimes hit a dead ball pretty well. He's in his 6th season with us and he isn't producing the goods. Isn't it time to move on to someone else? Or maybe he is considered to still be young (22) and that he might be able to produce something??
