  1. Yup, Chesterfield. he rose to fame in that cup run of theirs with the 'disallowed goal'. I agree that it was a big mistake to let him go. A replacement would have cost several million.
  2. He never hides and is always looking for the ball. If there was as much movement amongst all the others we would be a lot more successful. I agree about Barnard. A lot of them do't seem to be match-fit.
  3. He had the right, but you don't have to have something to hide to to feel uncomfortable by it.
  4. I liked 'can we have the DVD?' I thought it was grossly over-the-top policing that assumes everyone is a potential wrongdoer. The police are there to serve us, not the other way round. It's enough to cause a riot. I was once told that they do it so that if there is trouble later they can identify people caught on CCTV by their clothing.
  5. Education has not been the same since the abolition of the grammar schools. There aren't many of us left who remember them.
  6. Just ask yourself for a moment... Why on earth would anybody in Bulgaria be interested in Saints v Bolton in a tinpot cup?
  7. Point taken, you were right to correct me in this respect. Personally, I have experienced no evidence of improving standards in any of the public services, save perhaps health, but that has in no way reflected the vast amounts of borrowed money that have been poured down its gulleys. However, I take my hat off to Blair for this action whatever his motives. Amongst other papers I read the Daily Mail and a few days ago they were trying to make capital out of the fact that he will, in their words, 'save' a lot of tax by giving money to charity. This 'saved' money will not go into his pockets, but will further enhance the value of his donations. They were trying to make a cheap and invalid point, in my opinion.
  8. That is an interesting thought. Let's hope we're successful with at at least one of those, if not more!
  9. It isn't essential to me, but it is for the long-term health of the club.
  10. I think you have answered your own question there.

  12. I was referring to yours
  13. Oh dear. Obviously education was, for starters.
  14. Some of those 32583 will have been yours....
  15. I've just flown with Flybe and I read throug their FAQs. They mantion a 24 hour grace period for changing a name. After that it's 25£, I believe.
  16. That would be entirely appropriate, and beyond question.
  17. I don't fly back until tomorrow afternoon. I shall be thinking of him.
  18. We've got rid of a lot of very ordinary players, in my opinion. We have had to buy a completely new team.
  19. Probate does not affect the running of the company which is legally a separate body. There is nothing to stop the Chief Executive/Managing Director from carrying on as before. The same happens with any company when a shareholder dies, which happens quite often.
  20. We should not be afraid of anybody. They should be scared of us.
  21. This Messier? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Messier
  22. I always go to the toilet at half-time but last Saturday I never had the chance. I think that's why we lost. It's lucky we didn't win 9-0 or I would have had to go without a half-time pee for the rest of the season.
  23. I didn't see him in his usual seat but absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
  24. Oh, the english version of the MALI site says 'Ms Katharina Liebherr' and the german 'Frau Katharina Liebherr' so we don't actually know if she is married.
