Hmmm. BNP by a long way with the conseravtives close behind, but it wouldn't let me select only two parties to be compared against.

A draw is a result. Next season winning at home and drawing away will be sufficient. (For most people but not for you, I suspect )

I haven't done it for a long time now, but if it's any consolation I always used to find that it didn't last past lunchtime and a good solid meal.

Back down to earth, but let's not lose our heads

They have haunted us all season. In any normal season last night's result would have been a fairly good one, and our current form would probably be enough for automatic promotion. We are steadily improving and preparing for next season and as far as I can see the only way is up! -
By that I assume you mean Gordon Brown?

Thanks for the suggestion. I've installed Taptalk and this is the first post!

Everything looks like diced carrots - fact.

Drink plenty of water before you go to bed. Even better, drink water during the evening and if you can, substitute water for one of the drinks every now and then. The french will often alternate a glass of wine with a glass of water, especially the women.

I got caught just over 10 years ago but I didn't know that you had to notify the insurance company. On my renewal notices now it lists all my previous claims, windscreens, etc. and it still lists the SP30 so I'm pretty sure that they are notified by the DVLC. Whatever happened to the rehabilitation of offenders act? My licence had the old postcode so after three years I sent it off for a free address change thinking that the 3 points would be expunged. I now know that you have to wait 4 years, and pay another fee (fine) to have them removed.

That's about the truth of it, Daren. I don't know why we all can't leave it at that.

He was composed and dignified, please and satisfied. Like a father seeing his children win on school sports day.

They normally allow 10% plus 2 mph over the limit before they do you so anything over 68mph is likely to result in a missive. There is a scale of typical penalties depending on the amount over the limit, but I'm afraid I can't remember what it was, and it might have changed. Money-grabbing bastards! Unless you were driving irresponsibly, in which case you deserve all you get.

Of course a ship was originally a three-masted vessel with bowsprit and was square-rigged on all three masts, provided that the luff of the mizzen (or spanker) was not hooped onto a smaller mast just abaft the mizzen, in which case it was a snow. Or so I believe. :smt101

How about a ship in a bottle?
-
In dinghies outboard is outside the gunwhales or transom. I think you serve 'on' a submarine, which of course is always a boat, never a ship. Here's another one: How big must a boat be to become a ship?

A bank will never need to ring you for information, only to try to sell you something else.

Interesting that you serve 'on' and not 'in'? I suppose it dates back to the sailing days?

What is the difference between standing up and sitting down? It's the same view, innit? Except for the kiddies who can't see because of it.

I kind of agree with that. It's a strange sentiment but having won it so convincingly I'm not sure that I would want us to be defending it next season. -
A red card would have been harsh in my opinion. If the ref doesn't see the handball himself he is unlikely to go for the red. I thought he did ok. Always in control and nothing to complain about. Did he book any of our players? I can't remember any.

Not easy. The only output from the Skyplus box is analogue video. You could save it to a video cassette and take to a transcriber. Parkers photographic at Woolston should do it.

It doesn't matter how far it stretches, it all belongs to the state, even the stuff under your house.

Let's get this straight... What you see on television bears no relation to the experience of being there. As far as the sound goes there are a couple of microphones for crowd effects and these are mixed with the commentators. If they someone next to a commentator makes a noise then all those watching will hear it. I have watched the recording and I didn't hear any boos, just indifference. You cannot infer from what the tv presents you that the whole crowd is dooing, or singing, or whatever, and you certainly can't draw conclusions from what you think you hear on the tele. From the reports of those of us who were fortunate enough to be at the game there appears to have been very little booing anywhere at any time and what little there was cannot be directly attributed to Cortese appearing on the scoreboards.

Are you sure that wasn't me? -
I didn't hear any booing at the game and I watched the recording last night. The shot of Markus raised a cheer, the shot of Nicola didnt. I wouldn't call that booing, just muted. It all depends on the location of the crowd microphones. Don't assume that what you see and hear on the television bears any relationsip to what is happening at the game.
