I'm glad we can agree at last.
-
Why all this obsession with 'winning'? Why can't we all be equals in a world of equanimity? Rather than 'beat' can't you say 'differently lost'?
-
Respect. :prayer:

But what is the point of rhetorical questions?

Which part? I think you'll find that Rayleigh scattering is the commonly accepted reason for the sky being blue and not that God is a Pompey fan, which is so preposterous that we can discount it without further discussion.

Funny you should say that, I find myself walking out with my flies open quite a lot these days.

I find it hard to believe that Band of Brothers will ever be beaten. It still brings tears to my eyes when the veterans tell their stories.

The question has no meaning and therefore no answer. Before time began there was no time.

I don't suppose we shall ever know in any detail. It all depends on how the club is capitalised. I never could find a detailed Profit & loss account under the old regime so with this one it's going to be impossible.
-
An interesting question which helps to crystalise points of view. Should the regular supporter continue to turn up no matter what, or should the club respond to the concerns of its 'customers' who pay their money and in exchange expect to be treated to entertainment and respect? I use 'customers' for want of a better word
-
I was agreeing with you until you got to that bit. That was the biggest mistake that any government has ever made. If you throw money at the Public Sector then all they'll do is give themselves a payrise and hold more meetings. As a manufacturer myself I have seen what the mimimum wage has done to manufacturing in this country: it has exported all the jobs.
-
Now that makes me mad because I chose my wording carefully. People who have bought season tickets for the last few seasons and have sat through the worst rubbish I have ever seen must be the most loyal supporters anywhere, not those who pick and choose which matches to attend.
-
I can only speak for the silent majority. There are only two areas open. The seats in the kingsland are the best views in the stadium. You may not like their reasons but if their seats were available they would come but if they aren't they won't. We are talking about several thousand tickets here, to those of us who run our own business and have gone through the worst recession in a generation it doesn't make sense.
-
Not at all. They've been coming to see Brentford, Colchester, Gillingham, MK Dons, Brighton... ...well you get the idea. As I've said before, the club has the opportunity to sell a few thousand more tickets here and they aren't going to do it if they shut the biggest and most popular stand which contains their most loyal supporters.
-
Like it or not there is apparently quite a large number of regulars who won't. And I can't get a seat in the Itchen with the equivalent seat to mine in the Kingsland. Markus has already grabbed it. As you suggest, I shall wait until nearer the game. I cannot see why anybody would bother to buy a ticket nearly 4 weeks in advance unless it was either to get their usual seat or to get a 'good view'. I think that the club has seriously underestimated the potential crowd for this game.

TBF, I think they were talking about me!

I think the stadium announcer on Saturday said blue kit, but don't quote me on it.

That's the great thing about football. Even if you're a crap team you still get to see a lot of the ball.

I'm sure Hitler felt the same way when he invaded Poland, Belgium, France, The Netherlands Denmark, Russia..... you get the drift. (Godwin's Law strikes again)

As usual, the voice of reason. Are you sure you're on the right forum?

Not a goalkick, he kicked it from his hands. As you rightly say, you cannot be offside from a goalkick but it's surprising the number of supporters and players who don't know that.
