  1. Very amusing but you can’t appeal a yellow card.
  2. I have a theory about this. Ralph likes a high pressing style which is likely to get us a first half lead but this is difficult to maintain for 90 minutes both physically and psychologically. Once we have won a lead the players are more likely to defend it than go chasing more goals. Just a theory.
  3. Paul Jones? I was at Liverpool in 1999 when we lost 7-1 and we Saints fans were chanting “dodgy keeper” and at Tottenham when we lost 7-2 and he wasn’t very good then. Mail Taylor was a much better keeper but Dave Jones had promised Paul that he would bring him along from Stockport County. Those who get upset over the occasional 9-0 ought to have been around in those days.
  4. There’s a world of difference between sometimes and most times.
  5. He wasn't speaking what he really believed. That is manager speak.
  6. Only score one and let in two an what else do you expect?
  7. Without the buyback clause he would probably have cost a lot more.
  8. It’s bloody cold up there and a long walk to the beach.
  9. I lived in Forty Hill from 1964 to 1970 and my family originate from the Enfield Edmonton area. My dad used to go and watch Spurs train at their ground in Cuffley.
  10. Indeed it was. Ivan Golac lived in my close and I used to chat to him a lot. His daughters were at school with mine. She sat next to Alan Ball's son Jimmy at junior school. Tim Flowers lived in Otterbourne as did Kevin Moore.
  11. There is a car park right next to the ground. Don't use it unless you don't mind waiting an hour or so. But you knew that already.
  12. Thanks a bundle. I now have this mental image of Margot Robbie lying on a bed covered with chocolate flavour Angel Delight. That would take some licking 👹
  13. Another clean sheet 😋
  14. But plenty of people who are double vaccinated have not had this cold. Given that so many the population have been fully vaccinated you might expect that more of those who suffer from this cold would have been vaccinated than not. Correlation is not causation. You would need a lot more information before coming to any conclusions.
  15. And even he is Scottish Quite a few other Scotish managers as well. Sir Alex Ferguson with eleven titles an Kenny Dalglsh as mentioned above.
  16. No, that is nothing like a poacher. That is a very good goal scorer. A poacher is someone who pounces on rebounds from the keeper or a post. A poacher would normally be found in the six yard box. I suggest that you do us all a favour and go and look at that goal again. If that's the goal of a poacher then almost evry goal ever scored is a poacher's goal.
  17. No. He raced half the length of the pitch in order to be in the right place and it wasn't from 'fairly close range' by any means of the words. Nothing of the poacher about it.
  18. ‘On target’ or not doesn’t bother me. A shot on target that’s not a goal is not much different from a shot that is a foot wide or hits the woodwork. They are all goal scoring opportunities.
  19. Well there’s a pleasant surprise 🥳
  20. Indeed it is and I understand the reasons why, but I only said that it reminds me of it in the sense that what you see is not what you pay.
  21. No I wouldn’t. I thought I made that clear. It could be seen as misleading. It reminds me of when you buy something in America and then get the sales tax slapped on top. But what’s the point of it?
  22. In my opinion the price that you see should be the price that you pay. The only time that there should be an additional booking fee is where that fee is fixed and independent of the number of tickets purchased.
  23. The Butterfly Effect does not exist. It was a mistake in someone's figures. The Central Limit Theorem on the other hand...
  24. The draw is Saturday morning on Soccer AM or something. WTF?
  25. At least we can now concentrate on the league.
