  1. The way Brexit’s going you’ll soon be needing that for your soup.
  2. There was a worse tackle by Chris Wood yesterday for Burnley where he caught the opponent on the ankle with his leg extended at full stretch. Just a yellow.
  3. Frightening and disappointing. They get paid millions a year and all they need to do is keep themselves at maximum fitness and availability. All right, they might not die from Covid or even get seriously ill but post viral fatigue will knock quite a percentage off their performance.
  4. Troo. I must admit I was only really looking at the first paragraph. I’m not bothered by anybody filling anything though.
  5. I strongly suspect that this season will be no different from most of the others that we have suffered through.
  6. This has to be an attempt at sarcasm, right? And a “regulation petrol can” is not a jerry can.
  7. Don’t be such a prick. You don’t have the faintest idea as to how I would have reacted. When I said that I would not have complained, that is my position on this matter. I am a traditional Englishman and my word is my bond. I very strongly resent your personal attacks on me.
  8. That’s my view too. If Atkinson had given the red straight away I wouldn’t have complained but having someone else looking over his shoulder and marking his work is an intrusion too far.
  9. Nothing new there. Sea levels have been rising ever since the last ice age. Speaking of which, when do the scientists predict the next one? They can’t even predict the last ones.
  10. Au contraire. Mankind will adapt and survive but the UK is not going to save the world by its actions or inactions. Regarding the OP, there is a lot of evidence that CO2 is a lagging indicator.
  11. I’ve just seen MOTD. McCarthy got caught a couple of times by being too close to his line. The disallowed Werner goal he started to come for the cross and then retreated to his line. For their third he was a couple of feet too close to his line. I think the red card was harsh especially in those conditions. We had been told that VAR would not lead to re-refereeing of the game but this has happened a lot.
  12. Not without falling asleep.
  13. The two are not connected. If we spend £35tr it will make no difference to the earth tomorrow. If only it were that simple.
  14. These sports are mainly stop and go. Football is superior in that it can be end to end stuff at high pace and intensity.
  15. It’s only just October FFS. Nobody got relegated before the leaves have fallen. It’s not that long ago that nobody looked at the table until ten games had been played.
  16. I blame the parents.
  17. Ooh! Young man!
  18. Then I shall apologise to the gentleman. Sarcasm doesn't come across too well in the printed form. My apologies sir
  19. That's quite a leap of logic there. Player out injured for several weeks not coming straight back into the first team lineup shock.
  20. No. Some might, but nowhere near as many would if they were not vaccinated. That’s the whole idea.
  21. Tomáš Pekhart came on as a substitute for Legia and the commentator said that he spent four years at Tottenham but also came to Saints on loan. He made tenappearances for us and scored a home goal against Ipswich. I don’t remember him at all.
  22. M27 and M3 services now both out of fuel. Our local Shell is shut as is Tesco at Bursledon. Asda Chandlers Ford had both diesel and petrol with a £30 limit yesterday but no limit today.
  23. Or look at the UK and see how vaccines have brought the spread under control.
  24. So because no garage ran dry in your town there's no need to panic? Well bully for you. I see a pattern developing here. You've made a shedload of money out of the pandemic/Brexit/whatever so what on earth is anybody complaing about? Well I can tell you Sunny Jim, Most garages in Southampton and the surrounding area are completely empty. But there's no need to panic, none whatsoever.
