  1. The new concourse screens have been delayed as well. Now expected October at the soonest. The large stadium scree6were upgraded a few years ago.
  2. He tried to get out of the way and couldn’t quite manage it in time. It’s very kind of you to call it a shot. More of a back pass.
  3. Malik Taylor was better than Paul Jones but when Dave Jones took charge he brought in Paul Jones from Stockport because he had promised him that if he ever managed a top club he would take PJ with him. Beasant wasn’t bad either. If the net wasn’t there McCarthy would end up in the front row of the crowd.
  4. Why complain that the owner isn't spunking money up the wall? Or is a 'Fit and Proper' person only one who has more money than sense?
  5. The queues for Turnstile F at 1:30 were as long as any that I have known but moved on smoothly. One entrance was reserved for the exclusive paddy seaters but by the time that we got nearer the steward very kindly invited us all to use it. I told him that this situation wouldn't last long. The tickets worked OK but I assume that was because I presented the barcode side to the green light. I don't think it used NFC.
  6. Impressive, and so is the fact that we have spent £157 million.
  7. We trained him well
  8. To be fair, I didn’t notice any near me.
  9. There were a few empty seats around but not that many. Not quite a full house but not far off it.
  10. Well I’m willing to sign a new contract but I’m even worse that McCarthy. Not by a lot though
  11. Some day a goalkeeper will win the Golden Boot as well as the Golden Glove.
  12. That will have taken a lump out of the transfer profits.
  13. There are so many people on their smartphones at St Mary's that you struggle to get a data signal. Those who put their faith in technology often overlook the lack of a connection. Covid passes will not be needed until October at the earliest and even then only if the government makes them obligatory. The current club campaign is just to get the fans thinking about the Covid situation.
  14. McCarthy was all over the place yesterday. And not in a good sense.
  15. To be fair, we do need one.
  16. Good point. Let’s give it a go.
  17. One Saturday night I was ringing round the players to tell them that the game was off the next morning. When I got to our goalkeeper he said “I wouldn’t have been able to play anyway. My daughter died this morning”. She was only two years old. It still upsets me.
  18. I thought it would have been worth lobbing a couple of balls forward for Armstrong to chase. After a couple of close opportunities or maybe even a goal for us the United defenders would have had to drop deeper which would have relieved the pressure on us somewhat.
  19. It used to mean that if we wanted to sell they would have first dibs buy anything can be written into a contract of sale.
  20. I used to have one of these except that mine was in British Racing Green. A Bond mark C with a Villiers 197cc single-cylinder two stroke.
  21. I thought that there was a deflection on the scuffed shot but it was only where it hit McCarthy’s arse because he couldn’t get out of the way in time.
  22. Easy for us or easy for the opposition?
  23. I found out today that ‘livramento’ is Italian for ‘dogs bollocks’ Ninety minutes seem to be a stranger to him. He was shattered for the last twenty five minutes.
  24. Apart from his usual brain fart, that is.
  25. I’m sure I’d remember if it was.
