  1. Liverpool are unwatchable now. I can only hope that some European team will give them a tonking without the help from British coverage and officials.
  2. Not for me. Stephens was back in line with the others but mentally not quite sharp enough to pick up the run of Pukki. (run of Pukki sounds like a nasty medical condition)
  3. Long is a far more effective player than Obafemi. His running last night was a factor in our constant pressing them back, especially in the first half. With long in the team we have the option of dropping the ball over the heads of their defenders and making them turn back towards their own goal. The ball tends to stick with Long better than Obafemi which gives time for the rst of our team to get upfield. I would much rather have Long than Obafemi.
  4. Thanks. Cedric was back in his rightful place for their goal but he had two players to cover and Stephens was too central which left a gap between them. yes, I liked the look of him. Nice touch and good running but by that time we were playing more cautiously. Two hands in the back but nowhere near enough to send Long sprawling the way that he did. A light touch that I wouldn't describe as a shove. The slight delay between the touch and the leap is a good indication. That worried me too. Suddenly we are all back on the edge of our penalty area invited them to attack. It was a very cold night with rail strikes meaning that the last train was at 10pm apparently. I will always stay to the end but I can understand those that can't.
  5. Of course that's 45 points over 38 games spread over two seasons but as an indication it compares to 46 points under Puel which gave us 8th place. I would argue that the football has been more exciting and watchable under Ralph.
  6. I don’t think that Cedric was as bad as some have stated. For their goal he was covering a player on their left wing and Stephens was too far towards the centre leaving a gap between them. Pukki just belted through it and a simple straight ball played him in on goal. We were overloaded on that side of the pitch due to a quick breakdown of our attack. I haven’t analysed it more thoroughly yet but I suspect that someone on the right of midfield was missing.
  7. Yeah, we had a few around us even in the central Kingsland. Wasn’t too cold though. I had my thermals on and a thick jumper but because it was a calm night I didn’t feel the cold. When my wife has finished watching the Deadliest Catch I’ll try the highlights again.
  8. We were sitting right behind the shot and there was a only very tight gap between McCarthy and his near post. Pukki is a very good goalscorer and he was in control here.
  9. Had a good game tonight. Won some headers and didn’t make any obvious mistakes. I have seen a replay of their goal yet so I don’t know who to blame at this stage
  10. It’s not so much that he plays badly through the game, rather that he regularly makes mistakes that cost us at least a goal or two.
  11. Thanks for the suggestion but I shall be freezing my nuts off at the game tonight. I’ll try it another day.
  12. This was via my Virgin Media Tivo box V6. I also have a Firestick but that's on the TV out in the conservatory but that's way to cold to enter without appropriate clothing. I am also on the highest datarate bundle so bandwidth shouldn't be a problem although it was playing up a bit earlier in the evening.
  13. I looked at it too late to see anything except the highlights. Picture quality initially was abysmal, completely unwatchable, but it improved a couple of minutes later when the highlights were almost finished. There’s something wrong with the encoding in my opinion.
  14. I went to the away leg and I remember being disappointed that it was only 1-0.
  15. People who get paint all over light switches or sockets. The same goes for those who tile round them leaving them semi-hidden.
  16. That’s called damning with faint praise.
  17. It’s not a matter of hatred. These players are paid a fortune and they’re not very good.
  18. That’ll do lad.
  19. Fair enough, I hear what you’re saying. In matters which are not subjective the VAR can have the definitive decision. In effect we got away with it because the ‘handball’ was not obvious. Personally I think there’s something wrong with the implementation of the system if they have to go hunting through all sorts of angles and slow-motion replays before they can find some sort of infringement. As for the new attacker’s handball ruling the least said the better. There’s an enormous difference between yesterday’s example and punching the ball straight into the net
  20. If it puts the willies up the likes of us just think what it does to his fellow defenders
  21. It does for the VAR to interfere.
  22. But there does need to be for VAR to overrule the onfield decision.
  23. He’s always a concern. Doesn’t attack the ball or dominate enough for me. Seems scared of any ball in the air and lets it bounce. Opponents must love playing against him.
  24. A home draw please. For the first time in years I shall be around in January.
  25. Tomorrow (Monday) evening from 7pm GMT live on BBC. Saints are number 36 and Portsmouth 46. Other numbers are here: http://www.thefa.com/news/2019/nov/28/emirates-fa-cup-third-round-draw-details-281119
