Democracy means one man, one vote, once only doncha know.
-
That was nothing like democratic. For real democracy every voter has to have a similar interest in the result. For some voters the outcome won't make much noticeable difference. For others they lose their livelihoods and all that they've worked for over more than forty years. If you're retired with a guaranteed final salary pension and a nice lifestyle then you can afford to indulge your fantasies. Very selfish.

What an excellent judge of character

As I have said, nothing new then. Nothing that we haven't been able to do until now. Unless you can come up with something? You've had three years to think about it.

That's nothing to look forward to.

Indeed. There is no upside to Brexit and there never was. If there were we would have discovered it by now. After all, they've only had three years to come up with something. The only justification now for going ahead is that some group of people voted for it a few years ago. 1.5 million have dropped off the electoral register since then and a similar number have joined and its their future that's at stake.

I still do but I wish I didn't.

Jason Puncheon has been released at the end of his contract by Crystal Palace after six years. It doesn’t seem like yesterday.

I fell British and European in equal amounts. The British bit changes to English whenever the Scots start getting nationalistic.

That’s unlikely. They would have known exactly which candidate you meant. -
People who don't put the lids back on properly so that you have to check every time that you pick the bottle up or else you'd pour the contents everywhere. Yes dear, I' talking about you!

TVs and other electronic devices that take an age to ‘warm up’. When I were a boy in the 1950s a radio would take 8 seconds to warm up and a TV 20 seconds and we thought that was a long time. Mind you, that was a modern tele which we didn’t get until about 1957.

That’s if you can find a petrol station. We used to have over half a dozen in Chandlers Ford and now we’re down to one. I don’t count Asda’s because its tanks are full of water. Supermarkets who open coffee shops which means that their car parks are full up because everybody who has finished their shopping is sitting in the coffee shop. Scrap that. Coffee shops in general. What a waste of a life.

How do you write ‘Yoshida’ in Japanese? I tried to turn the picture upside down to check it but my iPad keeps turning it round again.

People who park right outside an entrance waiting for someone just because they are too lazy to use the short-term parking provided 20 yards away. Outside Southampton Parkway station for example.

I had considered that, but this was in the context of "with the help of our friends across the pond" We have much to thank the Americans for in this instance but we were not alone. World War, wannit. As a completely irrelvant aside to this I was researching my grandmother's brother's history and I got hold of a copy of his entry in the US Census from the 1920s. Under the heading of 'Military Service' the entry was: "Yes - WW" It didn't say WW1 of course because at that time there hadn't been a second one.
