Life expentancy on a standard hard shoulder is short enough anyway. I would never recommend anybody to chage the tyre themselves and I would always advise getting over to the other side of the safety barrier. The rumble strips between the inside lane and the hard shoulder need replacing every few months because they wear out so quickly. That tells you how often vehicles stray over it. The AA and the RAC have said that they will not be attending breakdowns on smart motorways so always take a prayer book with you and probably some rosaries and a couple of crucifixes as well.

Was his head with him or was it still in Liverpool?

Saints v Spurs (FA Cup) Match & Reactions Thread

Refs are abdicating more and more of their decisions to the remote officials. They are not dreadful, they are neutral which may not meet your opinions. As for today, that handball was not worth a penalty, the player was far too close. Look at Alderwereld’s in the league game if you want a classic example of a penalty. It was a good game to watch and Saints were playing some lovely football at times. Redmond was outstanding and we seemed to be playing with a lot more confidence than earlier in the season. The atmosphere was better than a typical league game too. Possibly because the Kingsland had a lot less of the usual old duffers. Pleased to get something out of the game. I was telling my grandson about the time that Hughes Fisher rescued a draw and a replay for us at the Dell in 1976. That worked out well. -

But it’s because of VAR that you get refs like that. -
Wasn’t there someone called Quondam?

PLenty of empty seats ther last night even at the start of the game and the commentators were talking about it. Not a mention though that the game was on TV and that their coverage might be contributing to the situation. By the end of the game it looked as though half of the crowd had left early.

Hi Phil, what a real pleasure to hear from you again and I’m pleased that you have managed to find your ‘place in the sun’. All the best to you and please give my regards to that lovely lady of yours.

I remember Dellhurst Park. We drove past a church near the ground that had a poster outside saying “Expect a miracle today” -

I like him too and think he’s well worth his place. Perhaps we should just stop calling him a striker. -
Didn’t I read that Dubai Phil is now living in Poland with his Polish wife? I suppose he should be called Polish Phil now.

We've now won 9 games this season. We won 9 games in the whole of last season. -

We're past the stage now of worrying about what the other teams do. We're on 31 points with 14 games to go a couple of wins and a couple of draws should be enough. -

You need to be careful here, SOG. You wrote 'If she was white do you think that would be the case?' which is about as racist comment as you could make.

I've just watched the highlights again, courtesy of Wes (why do I put myself through that?) and Bednarek tried to tackle Traore with his wrong foot and Traore just skipped over him. I agree with Benji about wiping Traore out and taking the booking. Bednarek was booked ater on 57 minutes. Does anybody know why? Yeah, he's not what you want as a dynamic midfield general. If you watch that Wolves move again you can see Stephens plays Traore onside by hanging well back and then waltzes through it all as a spectator. What was the point in hanging back if he's not going to get across and clear the ball? As for that penalty, He panics and goes diving in when Cedric has it covered and doesn't get anywhere near the ball. It's not as though anyone has touched the ball either, he just completely mistimes his lunge. Cedric does everything right, gets his body across in front of Jonny who hasn't actually touched the pass and shields the ball. That lunge by Stephens is what turned the game.

He’s a drag on our midfield. Doesn’t get forward, doesn’t get back, too slow to snuff out danger, first thought is to play it backwards. We need better. It’s strange but I’m more disappointed by yesterday’s game than I was by the 9-0 to Leicester. That one just became a laugh, a freak of a game.
-
I suppose that’s theoretically possible but I’ll let you know if it ever happens
-
You’ve confused Cedric with Stephens.
-
Who? All three of them?
-
Not for offside, I would argue.
-
I’ve just seen the highlights (thanks Wes) and there was nothing wrong with any of their three goals but what the hell was Stephens doing for that penalty? That decision alone cost us the game and Cedric had the ball covered. He was ball watching for their goals and was back to the Tephens we all know, sad to say.
-
That’s all very true, but Ings wasn’t a lot different.
-
Yes, he seemed to me to be trying too hard. There were a few decisions that I might have given the other way but his biggest fault was not signalling for the free kicks. JWP got booked for only two fouls which was harsh but I thought he got the penalty decision right. I shall look at it again later but you couldn’t say that there was a clear and obvious error. 2-0 is always a dangerous score. Next goal will win it.
