And the French who protected our backs at Dunkirk and the Italians who joined the Allies when Italy surrended and fought against the Germans and not forgetting all the European scientifi refugees who contributed to the Manhattan Project.

Thanks, I didn't know that you could stay there.

I paid for 'Tapatalk HD' a few years ago and then they did an update and all the adverts came back. Not pleased. -
It was, of course, an allied effort. The arrival of the Prussians tipped the balance and pursued the retreating French. Back in late April I had the opportunity to visit the battlefield of Waterloo and I found it fascinating. Even though I had seen many accounts of the battle it wasn't until I saw the landscape fully that I began to appreciate what had happened. I'd like to go back now that I've read more about it.

To show him what a proper football team looks like and to see what proper defending is?

Anyone with a restrictive contract? How about the music industry where you could sign an exclusive contract with one particular music company?

Great match between equals but it’s not proper cricket if they’re not wearing whites

Embarrassing? The one advantage of getting old is that you can say and do whatever you like. -

In later life it’s often said “You never regret what you’ve done, only what you haven’t done” -

I usually find that “no more than usual” evokes the appropriate response. -
That cup final is often quoted as an example where VAR would have produced a different result but even using the most basic logic we would have ended with a draw after 90 minutes. There were many other incidents in that game where VSR might have gone against us. We lost because our defence was not good enough. We made a game of it but with Stephens in the back four and to some extent Forster in goal we were always up against the odds. Had that first goal been allowed in the subsequent course of the game would have been quite different.
-
I think so too. It affects the regulation of the game during its progress. Assistant referees have been told to keep their flags down knowing that VAR can be introduced later as happened with Raheem Sterling in the Champions League semi-final against Tottenham. In any normal game the linesman would hav put his flag up the instant that Sterling receievd the ball and all the wild celebrations and subsequent disappointment would never have happened. We don't know how much this would have affected Manchester City but a quicker restart with the momentum of the game on their side might very well have led to a valid goal for them. Cricjet suffers from a similar distortion. Umpires now don't bother checking the bowler's front foot over the crease because they know that any wicket could be overturned on review. This means that the bowlers are no longer being warned if they start overtstepping the line.

I use a Samsung S8 and I was having some problems. When going to ‘unread threads’ Tapatalk was repeatedly taking me back to a previous point. Following an earlier suggestion I cleared the cache for the Tapatalk app and now it seems to be working properly. Go to settings and the app manager and find the Tapatalk app. Press on ‘storage’ and choose the option to delete the cache. -
But the same standard of referee is looking at the VAR. Just because you don't agree with a decision doesn't mean that the referee is bad. There is also the problem that all the referees seem to have invented new interpretations of the Laws.

Chris Marsden away at Ipswich. -
If it's a TV screen it's a worse view than seeing it live. It's a different view, but it's not the real thing. Anyway, if somebody has to wade through 6 or 7 recordings it's going to take all day.
-
VAR is not a machine. It just a other referee with a worse view of the alleged incident.

...and if you had your time over again would you change your team? -
I don’t know what you think these graphs mean but they demonstrate that you only think in UK terms and not globally. That all looks pretty f***ked to me. If you think that the UK economy is doing well then you don’t know what good times are.

Yep. And he gives away penalties too readily. His ego is bigger than his boots. Doesn’t stay calm and in control. I hope no prospective buyers are reading this
-
No I certainly don’t. It makes light of a very serious problem. This is no laughing matter. Brexit: We’re f***cked is more appropriate. And Dad’s army is so last century.

Although I agree with their sentiment it is not the place to wear them. They too are disrespectful but not quite to the same degree, in my view.

That life is something to be enjoyed and not endured. You only get one go at it so go for the best.
