That's not what happened. Djenepo was planting his foot down in a normal motion and the opponent stretched his foot and ankle out right in Djenepo's path. Nothing about raking his studs down someone's shin. It was the sort of thing that happens plenty of times in those circumstances. Yellow was correct. Stop looking at these things in slow motion, it gives a false impression of what happened.

Meaningless without context. And what does that have to do with our game yesterday.
-
Yep, that’s how I saw it. Leave things to the referee in the middle FFS. The red card incident was one of those things that can happen when you go flying in and stitch your ankle in front of a running player. Yellow was appropriate, red harsh. There have been other handball incidents very similar to Boufal’s without giving a foul. It was the point of his shoulder and nobody on the pitch even claimed for it. TV gives a very different view of the game.

Yes, I disagree too. Even with ten men we had our moments in the second half when we could have scored.

Long’s shot, well saved.

Why do I bother? Why am I bothered? I hate VAR. it is destroying the game that I loved. The TV companies have created a monster and it has to be fed. I never want to see Valery in a Saints shirt again. Another stupid mistake to go with all his others. Likewise Obafemi. He got sent on for his five minutes of effort and glory and every time the ball was passed to him he dummied it or flicked it away. At that stage of the game you need someone to hold the ball upfront. Buy your teammates some breathing space, maybe draw a foul.

Ryanair to the Canaries? Blimey, you’re brave. Are you sure that it’s the Canaries you land at and not somewhere in sub-Saharan Africa? Still, horses for courses as they say in some French restaurants.

I would prefer six points from those two mainly because I'm going to both

In our experience of cruising in a four week cruise you would expect to lose a few passengers anyway. There used to be a rumour that if they came round offering free ice cream it was because they needed the freezer space because the morgue was full. Then on one cruise they came round offering free ice cream...

I agree, it will be a huge relief to them. We can only hope that they learn some humility by then.

Interesting, thanks. Difficult at this stage to put figures to the probabilities. France for instance has 4 dead and 12 recovered out of a total of 212 cases. Italy has had 2502 confirmed cases. The Netherlands have had 38 cases but as yet none have died and none have recovered. Colombia seems relatively safe so far with no cases but something else will probably get you first.

Those aren't real achievements. They are exhibition matches played purely for TV.

Yes, we should be wary of being wearying. "Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore—" -

That's a matter of style and not grammar. There is no correct or incorrect usage. In my childhood I was taught a different rule to the Oxford comma. https://www.grammarly.com/blog/what-is-the-oxford-comma-and-why-do-people-care-so-much-about-it/ -

But they do use molybdenum, tantalum and platinum. You could always blame Sir Humphry Davy and Webster's Dictionaty: https://diecasting.com/blog/2014/02/26/aluminum-vs-aluminium-the-etymology-of-the-um-and-ium-debate/ -
People at baggage reclaim carousels who stand right up against the belt thus preventing anyone else from seeing or getting at their own cases.

We should always remember that American English is a different language to English English. -
Perhaps we'd better not score then. Problem solved

Especially if they’d already won it by then.

Being offside is not of itself an offence. They are Laws, not rules, and Sigurdson didn’t make a move to play the ball, quite the opposite. He was well out of the sight line of the goalkeeper who didn’t have a chance of saving the ball. He saw it clearly all the way. This line of argument has been around for years and there have been countless examples of players lying right in front of the goalkeeper and not being considered to have interfered with an opponent. As I said, United were very fortunate to get away with that one.

Professor is a job description and not a qualification anyway.
-
Actually, 100% incorrect. “Interfering with play” means “Playing or touching the ball passed or touched by a team-mate” Sigurdson didn’t touch the ball.
-
Solidarity, innit. #memasktoo

Hmmm... Exceptionally generous to United, I would have said. “Interfering with an opponent” means: preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball. For example, by clearly obstructing the goalkeeper’s line of vision or movement making a gesture or movement which, in the opinion of the referee, deceives or distracts an opponent • the opponent must be reasonably close to the play so that the blocking, deceiving or distracting makes a difference
