  1. Not a ‘clear and obvious’ error though, was it. When something like that goes unnoticed by everybody in the stadium and on the pitch and even most of the television shots it would be really pernickety to overrule the referee in charge.
  2. Didn’t Benali break his arm sweeping up leaves?
  3. Blimey. I thought he had gone years ago.
  4. Relevance to now? Only that the world has been a lot hotter in the past, long before all those people were driving around in SUVs. I don't disagree about reducing mad-made effects but these are not the only factor.
  5. It was quite cold in the late 1800s. What's caused the rise? A bit of everything. Solar high-energy activity, deforestation, lack of major volcanic activity, emissions. The question is by what degree? I'm more concerned about the next ice age to be honest. Has anybody predicted when that will be yet? https://skepticalscience.com/co2-lags-temperature.htm http://www.longrangeweather.com/global_temperatures.htm Be very careful where you click! Their main graph has no vertical scale. https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2013/03/were-screwed-11-000-years-worth-of-climate-data-prove-it/273870/ Of course there is a massive uptick on the right hand side. That's when the measurements are less smoothed. https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn11647-climate-myths-its-been-far-warmer-in-the-past-whats-the-big-deal/
  6. Not very long then. Since just before my gran was born.
  7. Out of interest, hottest since when?
  8. Out of interest, hottest since when?
  9. And it leaves a hole in the middle of midfield.
  10. I agree with you. There’s a reason that Facebook and the others don’t charge for their ‘service’ and that’s because your behaviour is important to them.’
  11. Their keep very nearly cut out Cedric’s pass so if it had been hit any weaker he would have intercepted it. The problem was that it reached Obafemi at chest height so he looked a bit bemused as to what he was supposed to do with it. There were plenty of other very good chances to score.
  12. Thank for that. Yeah, flaps at the ball again. He did the same at Man City.
  13. Interesting, but strange that they don't mention the amount that they went broke for nor how much they had been subsidised by the taxpayer. I calculated it at 50p per taxpayer.
  14. Is he after the job?
  15. Did he have you washed and disinfected first?
  16. Yes - Nothing beats a settled side.
  17. We could do worse.
  18. 0-9? When was that???
  19. Program updates mainly. Ever time I open a program have to wait while it updates and then I have to enter my login details all over again. Sometimes it's just change for the sake of change because some teenager thinks it's looking 'tired'. Fix the bugs, don't introduce new features that don't work.
  20. I had the pleasure of meeting a few of you gents in a pub in Herning for the Midtjylland game and Milan was fun too.
  21. Thanks Hypo, the feeling's mutual What an excellent judge of character you are
  22. Thanks for that. It certainly seems to appear that we have slackened off.
  23. Wouldn't it also be a function of the quality of team that we are facing? That is to say, if we are facing Liverpool or Man City is it possible that their players can offload the ball quicker and be more comfotable in posession and under pressure?
  24. You might be surprised, or there again you might not, but professional footballers do not have the same motivations as weekend footballers. There have been plenty of examples of teams with players who hate each other or their managers. Some of these teams were very successful, some of them weren’t. Sometimes a player will deliberately over hit a pass just to make the recipient look bad. They’re footballers. They’re not very bright.
