I can tell from your replies that you have never been in a managerial position or an office in a military organisation. Professional footballers have always behaved this way. If one player didn't like another he would deliberately give him a pass that was short or one that invited a crunching tackle. The extreme example of such behaviour was in Vietnam where fragging of unpopular officers became increasingly common. It's not a matter of 'not being arsed', there are lots of ways in which players can underperform and we have witnessed a lot of this in recent months. It's what is referred to as 'lost the dressing room'.
