  1. Yes indeed. Can you imagine being a surgeon with the responsibility of repairing a multi-million pound athlete? I have the utmost admiration for them.
  2. I'll find out tomorrow. From what little I remember of last year it was one charge for the whole transaction. Let's hope if won't be raining or I shall expect a busty maiden to stand there holding an umbrella over me. Almost worth £2.50.
  3. From what little I understand it would seem that previous types of repair were just a basic patch-up.
  4. A sad waste of a privileged life.
  5. Technically not legal tender although technically that doesn't actually mean anything. I must admit I am tempted though....
  6. Not really. If you miss slightly less than two games the cost is the same, and even at today's interest rates you should get more that £2.50 for keeping your money in the bank. It's not the exact amount that grates, it's the mean-minded penny-pinching aspect of it. 'Here's my £1500'. Oh thanks, that'll be an extra £2.50 for giving it to us. Does anybody know of any other business that behaves the same (apart from Ryanair) ?
  7. I was charged £2.50 last year on a debit card. If I had used cash there would have been no charge, which is ridiculous because as far as the seller is concerned electronic money is far cheaper to handle than cash.
  8. I totally agree. I shall take my £1500 in cash and that'll teach the barstewards.
  9. Not I, not ever.
  10. Of course, but an hour before should have been enough.
  11. Hooray Hooray! The first of May, outdoor sex begins today! You have been warned
  12. I saw this the other day about ACL reconstructions, I don't know if it has any relevance to our Jay. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2613883/Surgeons-finally-win-Battle-Wounded-Knee-Revolutionary-new-operation-repair-joint-uses-ligament-knew-existed-six-months-ago.html
  13. That Courtois looked good tonight. Why didn't we sign him before?
  14. I was referring to the house sale, or indeed any other transaction which is liable to stamp duty. There are instances where selling your luxury car for £10 would be frowned upon, say if you went in to live in a nursing home then the local authority would be after you sharpish.
  15. It wouldn't necessarily be illegal but stamp duty would have to be paid on the full value.
  16. The northern route seems more likely to me given the last presumed heading of the aircraft. It's the Inmarsat calculations that suggest otherwise.
  17. Along by the football ground it's 50, further west it drops to 40. I drove along there on Sunday.
  18. It can definitely be a possibility but it's possibly not definite.
  19. They're easily avoided. I've only ever used Easyjet and Flybe and I've never had any problems with them. Yes, he should have go to the airport sooner but 1 hour before flight should have been long enough to check in. Why are there always long queues for these airlines anyway?
  20. Or any number of other reasons, dropped of by their mums on the way to work, went early to avoid the traffic...
  21. Gemmel, thanks for taking the time to post all that, you have explained your views clearly.
  22. Any other business where the customer wanted to spend a few hundred quid and they'd invite you inside where you're warm and dry and give you a cup of tea and biscuits.
