  1. Didn't actually say much, did he?
  2. They borrowed £30,000 from the PFA to pay the players' wages.
  3. He was being nagged by Lowe to play the kids and this was to prove a point.
  4. The money all goes back into the big pot, doesn't it? I still can't find out about who takes over the contract payments, the FA of the PFA. When Middlesbrough were liquidated the PFA merely lent the money for paying the players.
  5. The Euro works well for me. I can sell to different countries and I can get the same money out from cash machines all over europe. I can also buy in most countries and not pay conversion fees on my french bank card.
  6. To be fair, Strachan did that too.
  7. Trousers! Where do you keep them all? I look at her in a completely new light now. If only she could keep her mouth shut...
  8. So now we're spending it before we get it! I'ma all for giving season-ticket holders free tickets for as long as we're in this division. Only in Kingland. Row O. Block 32. Or is it 31?
  9. Middlesbrough were liquidated in 1986 but were able to raise the £350,000 to register for the next season with 10 minutes to spare. Why didn't they have to start again at the bottom?
  10. What do you expect if you're only going to spend £81m? You do get a closing ceremony as well for that. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-16030785
  11. How did they decide to hold one? Show of hands?
  12. Keelhaul him. In a submarine. Whilst it's submerged.
  13. Wouldn't he go to his spiritual home?
  14. The daughter of one of my suppliers got married a couple of weeks ago. Whilst they were at the reception her father's house was broken in to and about 8 grand of stuff was taken. He had to leave the reception for nearly 3 hours and go through everything with the police. He ate his meal alone later in the hotel restaurant.
  15. 'Unsporting behaviour' these days. Page 118: http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/worldfootball/clubfootball/01/37/04/28/interpretation%5flaw12%5fen.pdf
  16. We took a cruise thee from Southampton last September. Mrs WG had always wanted to sail in and see Manhattan come up over the horizon. We sailed under the Verrazano Narrows Bridge at about 4:30 in the morning and tied up a couple of piers north of the Intrepid aircraft carrier museum and looking up to Times Square, a fantastic experience. We were in port overnight so I took her ladyship to 230 Fifth Avenue and we had a great evening meal on top of a little skyscraper about 23 floors up and looking at the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building and the New York skyline. We'd like to go back and spend longer. I have a good customer there so perhaps I should go soon. http://www.230-fifth.com/ http://www.intrepidmuseum.org/
  17. Well done Bridgey, keep it up.
  18. We hired a Megane estate a few years ago at naples airport. Just before flying back on the Sunday I went to a lot of trouble finding a garage near the airport and filled the tank with diesel. When the bill came there was a charge for fuel so I called the hire company and the girl said 'Oh, you returned it full, didn't you'. They were just trying it on.
  19. I only said that it was more likely. What was the conclusion? And nobody mentioned Arsenal.
  20. I checked Southern Water's website this morning. Bloody impossible to be certain, but somewhere it says 'Kent and Sussex' do we should be ok here. And it's raining.
  21. I always take multiple photos before and after, just in case. Good luck, and just keep going until they give up. You could always try the Sunday papers, they love this sort of thing.
  22. Teams in red are more likely to win championships.
