  1. Or maybe the fact that the teams in 3rd and 4th place have accrued more points and/or a better GD over a 46 game season than the teams in 5th and 6th just makes them more likely to win anyway. Or, maybe a sample size of ten is way too small to identify any kind of certain trend, and it's just a statistical anomaly.
  2. That's how Steve Davis described the longest frame of snooker in Crucible history this afternoon... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/snooker/articles/cn5pw431zk1o I can see why Allen didn't want a re-rack, because of the points advantage he had, but he'll be fuming to end up losing it.
  3. Sheff Weds takeover finally completed... https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/sheffield-wednesday-takeover-done-8477835
  4. Not seen another thread about it so thought it was worth discussing. There's a couple of obvious candidates... Finn Vs City at Wembley for the celebration, and it was a damn good finish too. Charles Vs Oxford - outrageous hit from distance. But I'd also like to nominate LND's second away at Sheff Utd. It was the moment he finally announced to us what a good footballer he actually is, after a nightmare couple of injury-plagued years for him. There's probably plenty of other decent shouts but those are the three that stick out for me.
  5. Agree with this. We saw in 23/24 that he wasn't really suited to a DM role, and as much as he has improved overall since then, the defensive side of his game is still a bit lacking. He's not all that combative, and gets caught in possession too easily. Case in point: within a couple of minutes of coming on to replace Bragg at Wembley, he dithered on the ball and gave it away really cheaply leading to a shot on target, which is something Bragg didn't do once while he was on the pitch.
  6. Just like Stockport were guaranteed to win at home against already relegated Port Vale last night to confirm their playoff spot?
  7. If Millwall are involved then it almost certainly will kick off around 12:30, ahead of the match starting later in the afternoon.
  8. Agreed. He's offered little to nothing since coming back in from the cold. I have no doubt he will be gone in the summer anyway.
  9. Yeah in hindsight it might have been a good idea to sub him off for Bragg after we scored the second. Fresh legs in midfield could have prevented the onslaught we faced at the back.
  10. Nom nom
  11. Yeah his trailing leg was tucked under so it wasn't two-footed, and it was barely even ankle height. Never a red.
  12. But you're not bitter are you. Take your red and white tinted specs off for a bit, and you'll recognise that they had the better chances from the first few minutes.
  13. He was well off his best tonight, that's for sure.
  14. Really? I thought they were very good tonight - best team I've seen at SMS in a very long time and probably deserved to win it on balance.
  15. Don't think we did enough to deserve it tonight. We were absolutely spent by the end and lucky not to lose.
  16. Just have to throw everything at it now.
  17. Oh man, that's so cynical. I would be in favour of a sin bin rule for that kind of foul.
  18. And now Fellows with a knock too. Not great.
  19. I'm not seeing that at all.
