Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Maupay went over far too easily from the slightest touch from Bednarek and the ref bought it. Never a foul.

I'm not making excuses. The defending was crap and we should have done much better. But, at the risk of repeating myself, the ball was not in the quadrant and the goal should not stand. Nothing wrong with that one from Adams though. Another cracking volley. Get in son.

We didn't defend it well, I'm not denying that. But rules are rules and the goal should not stand.

The ball was clearly not in the quadrant when that corner was taken. Why doesn't VAR check these things?

Ball could have gone absolutely anywhere when it bounced off the post then. Literally anywhere else and it's bit a goal. That's the kind of luck you get when you're a team like City.

People saying Forster hasn't really been tested properly yet this season. Well he's about to be.

Tella was a real bright spark today. Caused them loads of problems with his running and won plenty of FKs and got the penalty. His positivity and willingness to drive the ball into the box is something we have been sorely missing recently. He looks like he's gonna be some player for us.

I hope that's because Tella was knackered and couldn't continue, because he's been our best player today and replacing him with Redmond otherwise would be utterly mental.

That reminds me of the game up there last season. Adams hit a sweet volley that came back off the post, but the technique was excellent and it deserved better.
