  1. Of course not. Straight at the keeper, just like always.
  2. Ings was too selfish there. Had better options around him.
  3. Oh crap. Traore coming on. We never seem to be able to defend well against him.
  4. Maybe he's been training with Armstrong.
  5. Fucking FINALLY! A VAR decision has gone in our favour.
  6. Djenepo and Redmond together just doesn't work. They're both so wasteful and it leaves our attack disjointed and ineffective. Both of them had good shooting chances but completely failed to judge the flight of the ball and sort their feet out in time to get a good connection. Armstrong has been our best player by a long way.
  7. Remind me how that worked out?
  8. Redmond partnering Ings up front? We tried using him as a striker before. Was it Puel or Pellegrino who suggested he could become the next Thierry Henry by converting from a winger? It was a disaster anyway.
  9. Sweepstake on how many times the taters will mention the score from Tuesday's game... I'm going for 17.
  10. I disagree, because if it was applied to offsides then you would just get more situations like the one against Villa, where the VAR ref tries desperately to find a way to justify the on-field decision, rather than overrule it. With offsides, they should acknowledge the issue with the freezeframe not being precise. The VAR ref should rewind to the last identifiable frame before the ball is played, and if the player is onside there, but offside by millimetres on the next frame, then the advantage should be given to the attacking team and the goal should stand. If that means overruling the lino's flag then so be it.
  11. He's almost got the hair for it as well.
  12. You would certainly hope so.
  13. Damage limitation really. It doesn't look good on the FA having to admit incompetence from their officials on the night, but it would have looked even worse on them if they had upheld such a ludicrous decision that literally everyone agrees was wrong.
  14. And we all know full well if that exact same incident had happened at the other end, he would have just waved play on. Not a chance in hell he would give the away team a penalty at OT for that.
  15. The more I look at this, the more angry it makes me that Dean didn't even review whether or not there was even a foul on the pitchside monitor. You can clearly see Martial already on his way down having not made any contact with Bednarek. They have to rescind that red card. They just have to. If they don't, it will just send a clear signal that they are corrupt as hell and don't care who knows it.
  16. There has to be some consequence of Dean not actually looking at the replay though. There has to be.
  17. Absolutely this. If the goal stands, then it's 4-1 and suddenly we get a bit of belief and Utd realise they have some defending to do to stop us from clawing our way back into it. They don't then go and get a 5th and 6th in quick succession, and we don't end the game with 9 men. That incorrect decision was what turned it into a 9-0 game, which up until that point it clearly wasn't.
  18. Exactly. They have taken the wording of the laws far too literally, rather than acknowledge that the scenario didn't actually fit with the reason the law was introduced. Just as they did with the handball against Villa.
  19. This is it. He's a fucking primadonna who wants to grab the headlines. I cannot remember a single example of him awarding a contentious decision in our favour. He has no objectivity whatsoever and is unfit to be a PL referee.
  20. The thing is though, the decision to disallow Che's goal was farcical. There's no way you can look at those lines and say with absolute certainty he was offside, and the goal should have stood. At 4-1, suddenly it's a different game. We get a bit of confidence and belief and maybe we go on to score another. So yeah, you can say it looks like sour grapes, but the fact is that one decision did have a massive influence on he outcome of the game. And it was the wrong decision. Out of interest, does anyone know how many "goals" we have had disallowed during our recent barren spell? It feels like it must be about 7 or 8.
  21. Fair enough. I retract the "prick" from Martial and throw it to Dean instead x1000.
  22. My thinking is that although we don't have loads of players isolating because of positive tests, the lockdown restrictions are preventing us from using our recovery facilities, so if can be argued that our squad availability is being impacted by Covid, albeit indirectly.
  23. Good if him to admit that after the match. Why couldn't he have said it to Dean when he produced the red card for Jan? Prick.
  24. The PL have completely fucked this once wonderful sport this season with their ridiculous rules and the way they have implemented VAR. A blatant handball isn't a penalty because there was the slightest graze of the player's thigh first, If you try and pull out of a tackle it's a red card but if you go clean through the player it's only a yellow, You can be offside because of your sleeve. This is all a fucking suck joke. I'm done with it. PL you can stick your fucking 'brand' up your arse.
  25. Mike Dean can fuck off as far as I am concerned. He's such a self-important, officious prick who always, and I mean ALWAYS, tries to make himself the star of the show. Edit: ok that was a bit harsh.
