Absolutely mental seeing him on telly playing in the FA Cup. I bought him his first skills ball as a Xmas present when he was 7! Thought he did pretty well. Looked calm and composed, always made himself available to receive a pass, and put in a really good tackle towards the end. In case anyone is wondering, his mum is my sister-in-law, and his dad is from Kenya.

It's a decent game this. Both teams playing some nice stuff so far.

Just tuning in for the Everton v Sheff Weds game, with an immense feeling of pride. My 17yo nephew is making his first appearance in the Everton first team squad for this one - Tyler Onyango. He's been making a big name for himself in the U23s this season and has been knocking on the door of the first team for a while. Found out yesterday he'll be on the bench, and I'm not expecting him to get on the pitch, but just to see his name on the squad announcement on Twitter is incredible.

Oh that deserved a goal. Lovely skill from Che.

Great start. I wonder how long we can maintain this intensity though.

Anyone found a decent stream?

It really was very clear... As in my case. I am a key worker and I work from home. What's so confusing to everyone about that? Maybe I could have added the next bit on a separate line, but I wasn't saying I'm justified in putting my daughter in school solely because I wouldn't get any work done. Because I'm not an idiot and I know that's not the case. I was just making the point that simply being at home doesn't automatically mean someone is capable of full time childcare as well, which is what Whitey appeared to be suggesting.
-
Eh? Whitey said his daughter told him there are kids in school whose parents are WFH, as if to say they shouldn't be in school. Aintforever pointed out that people can be key workers and still be WFH, making it impractical/impossible for them to also have kids off school and at home with them. I simply agreed and said that this is the situation I am in. I am a key worker, working from home, and I could not do my job if I could not put my daughter in school. To say that no kids should be at school if one of their parents is WFH is just wrong if you don't take the parent's job into account. What is it about this you don't get?

Yes. In the same way we have 'access' to markets anywhere else in the world. It doesn't exactly fit with the notion of "staying in that zone" does it.

“There is a free trade zone stretching from Iceland to Turkey that all European nations have access to, regardless of whether they are in or out of the euro or EU. After we vote to leave we will stay in this zone. The suggestion that Bosnia, Serbia, Albania and the Ukraine would stay part of this free trade area – and Britain would be on the outside with just Belarus – is as credible as Jean-Claude Juncker joining UKIP. Agreeing to maintain this continental free trade zone is the simple course and emphatically in everyone’s interests.” Michael Gove - April 2016.

That's just the way you read it. That wasn't what I was trying to imply. I am a key worker because of the demands of my job (see previous post). Having sole responsibility for my daughter at home, while my wife is out at work in a hospital, would leave me unable to fulfil my duties. So yes, I am working from home, but I am also completely justified in putting my daughter into school. I was really responding to WG's statement that his daughter knows for a fact that the mum of one of the kids in her school is working from home. The implication from this is that this mum is taking the piss and should have her child at home. But without knowing exactly what that mum does for her job, it's unfair to make that kind of judgement.

No, the fact that I work in an incident response role for a category 1 responder makes me a key worker.
-
This is where we have ended up. Can someone please try and explain to me how this squares with what was promised by the leave campaigners?
-
Exactly. As in my case. My wife works in a hospital so is out on the front line, and if I had to have my daughter at home then I wouldn't be able to get any actual work done, because she would require my constant attention.

Indeed. If Trump can increase his vote share among Latino voters, despite spending the last 4 years insinuating not-so subtly that all Mexicans are essentially violent rapists, then anything is possible in that regard.

Yes Boris, of course. Because, nobody in Europe eats fish at home do they. It must be ALL because the restaurants are closed and absolutely nothing to do with your cobbled together catastrophe of a Brexit deal. Earlier in the day he was saying it is all the exporters' fault for not filling in the forms correctly.

Sometimes in life, you have to hit rock bottom before you can start to climb again. America probably needed a Trump presidency as a kind of nadir moment, so that the many underlying problems that have been bubbling away under the surface could be brought to bear and addressed once and for all. Either that or things are going to get a whole lot worse. The way the world has gone politically over the last few years, it's really difficult to make any predictions these days.

It's always very easy to pin the blame on a defender, but people need to realise that Madisson may be a little scrote but he is also a very, very good player. He's done that kind of thing to much better defenders than Stephens, and that finish was absolutely top class. Blasted high into the roof of the net leaving Macca no chance because of the pinpoint accuracy and power. Stephens actually did a decent enough job of shepherding him wide, and had Madisson missed (which 9 times out of 10 he would have), we would now be praising him for really good defending. Sometimes you have to just hold your hands up and acknowledge that you got beat by superior skill. The second goal, however... The less said about Stephens' contribution to that the better, but the game was already lost by that point so it wasn't exactly a pivotal moment in the match.

Leicester look like they are tiring, and the changes by both teams seems to have given us a bit more momentum. It's not out of the question.
-
If it had been on target it would have hit the defender.

Great. Another injury.
