Indeed. Bit of a theatrical dive and roll after that tussle with Redmond then. -
Saints v Spurs (FA Cup) Match & Reactions Thread

Bednarek lucky to avoid a yellow for that. Don't know what he was thinking really, it's like he tried to back out of it but far too late. -
There's plenty of examples of players doing the same. J-Rod, for instance, lost his way with us following his injuries and went down to the Championship with WBA. But now he seems to be really enjoying his football and playing well back at Burnley. The Everton fans are unanimous in their dislike of Spiderman. He really hasn't done well there at all, but we know what he is capable of if managed correctly, and IF (big if) he could get back to the level he was playing at before he left he would undoubtedly be an upgrade on Hojbjerg.

First episode of ST Picard is on Amazon Prime now. Watched it this morning (cos I'm off sick from work at the mo), and it looks very promising.
-
It's certainly an odd one. You'd have to question the wisdom of the Leicester recruitment team if they think the solution to their defensive issues is a guy they managed to score 9 past earlier in the season.
-
Yoshida has played RB a few times, although not particularly well if I recall. But with Bednarek still out (I assume?), I would rather he played in the centre for our next couple of games rather than Vestergaard, whose lack of pace and mobility will be ruthlessly exposed by Spurs and Liverpool.
-
He's our 3rd choice CB currently, ahead of Yoshida and Danso, neither of whom are going to be still at the club after the summer (I cannot see any reason why we would want to take up our option to buy Danso) If we sell JV now, we had better have a replacement already lined up because otherwise come July we will find ourselves needing to sign at least 2 CBs just to make sure we have enough cover in that position. I know Vestergaard is Persona non-grata around here, but he actually had a decent game against Palace (after his early mistake) and I reckon he's worth keeping as a backup, if he's happy to be a bench-warmer of course.

Darren Anderton Pete Devereux (Artful Dodger) Didn't realise Scott Mills went there as well. Must have been after my time I guess. Edit: Just checked his Wiki entry and he went to Crestwood in Eastleigh, apparently. He would have been a year above me so I would have known him if he had gone to my school.

I'm pretty sure that was the case, as I seem to remember another poster coming on to stick up for him, and said he found all the mocking of his posts really hurtful as he just had a genuine passion for the club and couldn't understand why everyone was such a d!ck towards him.

Yep. 4-1 to Leicester now. Born winner that man.
-
Yeah that wasn't obvious from the little drawing of the path of the ball. I obviously saw the cross, and the contact from Son didn't register.
-
Or maybe not!
-
I'm not watching, but judging by the 'replay' on Bet365 it looks like it was an outrageous long range effort from Son.
-
Gah - 2-1 Spurs now
-
Well this is looking positive for us - a few weeks ago I'd have been worried about Burnley and Norwich picking up points, but now I'm relishing the fact they are taking them off ManU and Spurs!

What a fantastic post, great to hear you're enjoying life. Do you mind if I ask what was so bad about Dubai for you in the end? I've heard some horror stories about the place, and my brother was lucky to escape the country after he lost his job and had his credit cards cancelled - abandoned his car at the airport and got on the first flight out he could get on (to Thailand!) before his passport was marked. It sounds like a truly despotic place.
-
And Tottenham winning now too.

Leicester 1-0 against WH.
-
Ha! What was the actual story there? I know it's stuff of Saintsweb legend, but I don't think I ever knew the details of it?

Who was the Arsenal player who received a lengthy ban for breaking Glenn Cockerill's jaw?

There's been a few people who were very active on the political threads who have just vanished recently. Verbal was another one. I remember the days when political and religious threads weren't allowed due to being too polarising and inevitably would become abusive. It's a shame that they are now pretty much the only threads in the lounge, because there used to be a lot of interesting discussions in there. I reckon that could be one of the reasons why lots of old posters stopped bothering.

This is all sound logic, but we have really struggled to beat teams below us in recent seasons. Didn't we go about two years without beating a newly promoted team? Actually, ignore that because we have already won all three of those games this season so far - Sheff Utd and Villa away, and Norwich at home. The signs are good indeed.
-
But it would cost us around that much to replace him though. Spend any less than that and there's no guarantee that the replacement would actually be any better. I like Che, and I think he will only improve with more game time. Like others have said, it's not all about goals, as proven by Shlong. He has a decent touch and looks like an intelligent player too, with the ability to hold the ball up and bring others into play. I would be very disappointed if we offloaded him to Leeds without ever getting to see his full potential.

It was Delldays (now Batman) who promised he would eat his own sh!t if we made the playoffs in 2007. We're still waiting for confirmation.

Palace 0-2 Saints. Wild celebration reaction thread.
Sheaf Saint replied to Shroppie's topic in The Saints
In all fairness to Vestergaard, following that early giveaway he didn't really put a foot wrong. But then, he wasn't really exposed as Palace were mostly woeful in our half all evening.
