Yeah I agree. Seems an obvious move. Fans on their forum seem happy with the suggestion because even a decidedly average player would drastically improve their awful midfield.

The standard has improved massively in the last few years. The quality, particularly the goalkeeping, is clearly superior to when I watched the last WC. But Dman wouldn't know this because he's only watched 30 mins of this tournament and that's obviously enough to decide that the overall standard is terrible. I actually like the fact that the women's game is played at a slower pace than the PL, as it gives flair players more time and space to show off their talent. It's true that, in general, women will not be able to hit a ball with as much power as men can, but you still get to see some great goals in these international games, so I find it enjoyable. If other people don't, that's fine. I just wish some of them would stop 'ramming it down our throats' (😉) how much they dislike it.

Nobody is ramming anything down your throat, and that example is just an over-excited commentator talking shite. It's not as if that has never happened im the mens game is it. If you don't like the amount of coverage the media are giving it, you are free to ignore it. Personally I'm not the slightest bit interested in Wimbledon, but you won't find me going on Tennis forums and repeatedly posting about how uninterested I am and how it's being rammed down my throat by the BBC.

Fuck me these campaign launches today are nauseating. Sunak telling us we need to reduce the tax burden when he was the chancellor that created it in the first place. Dorries claiming Liz Truss is a stronger Brexiter than her or JRM, whereas she actually supported the remain campaign and only flipped when she realised it would land her a cabinet post. And those two are the front-runners apparently. Actually, the more I think about it, I'd be happy if it was Truss. Starmer would rip her to pieces at the dispatch box.

But pretty much all players do that anyway though. It's generally why most transfer business takes place towards the end of a window. Players will have received various offers and their agents will advise them to hold off and wait to see if a better offer crops up before signing for anyone. Using that as a reason to not sign a potentially really good player would be madness.

It didn't used to be. If you go back to the first few pages you'll find probably an equal amount of people either supporting Johnson or opposing him. It's just that, as time has passed and he has shown himself beyond any reasonable doubt to be a terrible cunt, completely unfit for high office, even those who used to support him won't dare to come onto this thread anymore to sing his praises, probably because they realise how stupid it would make them look.

The thing that worries me most is the fact that every day he us still PM, he's free to dish out peerages to whoever he likes. He'll probably try and grant one to himself with his track record.

Well that speech was everything expected it to be. Waxing lyrical about how wonderful and brilliant his premiership has been and blaming his forced resignation on "the herd" in Westminster. At no point did it occur to him to even pretend to show any remorse or contrition for any of the catastrophic failures of leadership he has overseen. As an aside, I see that Starmer has stated he will push for a VONC if he doesn't leave office immediately.
