Looks like we have become hard to beat, after we were so easy to beat in the second half of last season. We've already played 3 of the current top 4, and only lost one of those games, as well as holding our own against a very good WH team, and getting a late equaliser (something we were incapable of last season) at Newcastle where we would usually lose. Just got to hope we can find our scoring boots in the more winnable games coming up, of which there are a few between now and the end of Nov. 2 or 3 wins out of those and we can head into the Xmas period in a healthy position.

Spot on. He just bottled it in the face of the whining from the City players, and the VAR ref gave him the opportunity to 'correct his error'.
-
On what basis? Walker didn't go for the ball, and stuck his leg in front of Arma's to stop him from getting to it. Anywhere else on the pitch it's a clear foul.
-
Back to back clean sheets against WH and City isn't to be sniffed at. Away at the Etihad is the toughest test for any team, and we passed that test with flying colours. I'm very happy with a point from a game where we all expected we would get thrashed, but I'm just aghast at that shitshow from Moss. Whether he's a cheat or just a coward, I don't know, but he needs to be removed from reffing games for a while.
-
Jesus, why did that take so long to check and confirm? It was so obvious even without the lines.
-
And there it is. Did anyone honestly expect anything different?
-
If Moss had given that one for Sterling, there would have been a riot. I almost expected him to as well.
-
This. The City players put enough pressure on him to convince him to change his mind. The VAR ref shouldn't have given him the opportunity because it was blatantly a penalty. It's fucking corrupt is what it is.
-
What the fuck has Moss seen on the replay to change his mind? It was a blatant foul and a penalty. He's just succumbed to the City players' whingeing. Absolutely pathetic, spineless prick.
-
Are you fucking joking me!?
-
Penalty!

With Stu and Theo still unavailable, it's the perfect excuse to try it. Some people reckon we shouldn't because he's a full back not a winger, but he has played in more attacking roles before with Chelsea and England, and I seem to remember another young Saints full back who successfully converted to an attacking player - he didn't do too badly for himself did he!

Just FYI everyone - this weekend is students moving in weekend, so if anybody is thinking of trying to get into Manchester by car I would strongly advise against it.

Yep, mine too. Leaving it a bit late to send them out, but the delay could have been at the SHU end.

Still not got mine yet.

Ladies and gentlemen, our new Foreign Secretary 😥 -
Exactly. I'm usually the first in line to criticise Boris' government, but you can't blame them for not knowing 6 months ago how long the immunity from the vaccine would last. If the choice ahead of us is booster jabs or more lockdowns, I can't see how anybody would willingly choose the latter. It's an absolute no-brainer.

There's still a large area fenced off there so I guess they've never been able to repair it properly. I've been to the gym this evening and it seems a lot of people are using that car park for the football (Utd played Preston at the Lane tonight) since they don't have entry and exit barriers anymore. It's the Nuffield Health gym on Napier street... https://maps.app.goo.gl/qPfrYYvg38eoR7E16 Would be handy for you @bangkoksaint if you're coming in from A625 - much easier to get out again afterwards.
-
@bangkoksaint Lots of unrestricted on-street parking in the residential area shown in red here: Gets pretty busy so the later you arrive the further away you'll have to park.
-
Have they got Dave Merrington writing their Saints content now then?
-
Manc Airport has a tram link direct to the city centre and, I think, to the stadium. Easy to get to off the M56 if you're coming up from Brum, but will probably be costly.

Don't agree with this at all. Long is a player with incredibly limited technical ability but decent enough pace in a straight line to cause defenders problems with his direct running at them. Redmond is clearly talented, but even when he does decide to run at players he's not all that quick. It's just the fact that he dithers so much and always, without fail, wastes good attacking opportunities by delaying too long before choosing the wrong option anyway. He's infuriating, because we know he can do it. When he set up Moi's goal against Newcastle, he showed what he can do by going past a defender and putting in a decent cross. If Redmond had the same eagerness to drive forward at defenders that Long has (or used to have), we'd have a proper player on our hands, and he probably would have been poached by one of the bigger clubs by now.

To get people to take notice enough that they want to discuss it on an internet forum I guess

I'd say the two things are almost mutually exclusive. To be anti-vax is to be a science-denier, while the entire climate protest movement is centred around acknowledging the science behind it.
