  1. But that was on the basis of promises by the leave campaign of leaving with a deal. There isn't, and never has been, any popular mandate for a no-deal Brexit. Given what we now know about what a no deal Brexit will actually entail, let's just imagine for a second what the Vote Leave campaigning would have looked like if they had a) known what we know now and b) been honest about it: Vote Brexit for: Massive queues and delays at borders, especially at Dover where we import most of our RoRo goods from Europe Shortages of food, medicine, water treatment chemicals etc... Economic hardship for possibly up to 30 years while we negotiate worse trade deals with the rest of the world than the one we already have as part of the EU The imposition of a hard border between NI and Eire and a return to bloody sectarian violence The eventual breakup of the UK when Scotland inevitably becomes independent Ask yourself - what effect would this have had on the referendum result? Do you honestly think it would still have gone the way it did?
  2. It's kind of backfired on him hasn't it. He clearly thought he would be in much greater demand, but the lack of interest from the bigger clubs he was hoping to impress speaks volumes. It's been reported that he was told we would let him leave after two years, but I rather suspect it was more a case of "if you perform well and a big club comes in for you then after two years we won't stand in your way", rather than giving him any cast iron promises of any move at that time. The way I see it, he now has two options. He can either cut his losses and accept a sideways (at best) move to a club like Besiktas, provided the club accept their offer of course, or he can buckle down and put in the required effort this season with us to earn a much more glamorous and lucrative offer next summer. Personally, I think he would be stupid to do anything other than the latter. Given his obvious talent and our lack of quality and depth in his position, it really wouldn't take much for him to force his way into our first team and become a regular starter. And if he can do that, and make his good performances the norm rather than the exception, then he will have a glut of offers much better than Besiktas come the end of the season.
  3. I doubt it TBH. Sky will most likely be more interested in the top six teams against lower league opposition, like MK Dons v Liverpool or Colchester v Spurs.
  4. Will still have to be a midweek game though.
  5. Boom! Pompey away it is!
  6. Sheff Weds got a 96th minute winner in the local grudge match at Rotherham. I'd be happy if we drew them away.
  7. Bournemouth couldn't beat Forest Green in 90 mins. 74% possession, 23 attempts - no goals.
  8. What time is the draw? Is it straight after the FT whistles of tonight's games or do we have to wait for all the penalty shootouts to finish as well?
  9. Allegedly, he was dropped by Ralph after having a hissy fit at being subbed off against Liverpool. Allegedly.
  10. Well it was bound to happen eventually. We got very lucky last season that he didn't miss a single game through injury - which is very rare for a player in his position especially who relies on bursts of pace and is most likely to get fouled. I say lucky because we had no depth in that position last season, and would have had to play JWP, Armstrong or Sims in his place - none of which would have been able to offer anything like his attacking threat. At least this season we have other options, with Djenepo and a seemingly rejuvenated Boufal able to play that role. Hopefully this will all be a moot point and Redders won't be out too long though.
  11. Anyone managed to find any highlights anywhere? Edit: Found them... https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/competitions/carabao-cup/11795732/fulham-0-1-southampton Terrible finishing. Really should have been 4-0.
  12. Has Obafemi ever finished a first team match without getting injured?
  13. FT. Never in doubt
  14. Going into 6 mins of injury time with a one goal lead, having wasted a few great chances to score more. We all know what's coming now don't we. Time for a cheeky in-play insurance bet!
  15. Gallagher has scored for Blackburn at Sheff Utd to reduce their deficit to 2-1.
  16. Nope. I'm relying solely on Bet365 live updates and the BBC rolling commentary that's about 5 minutes behind.
  17. And now JWP in the book as well. Two bookings in the first 10 minutes!
  18. Danso booked already? What for?
  19. I'm not sure that's really the issue. Oldham, Rochdale and Stockport are all just as close to Manchester and they seem able to run themselves properly (that I know of).
  20. Seems so. No Bertrand in the squad at all, and it looks like PEH will be playing LB. I like the look of our front 4. Plenty of pace in there with Djenepo, Boufal, Redmond and Obafemi. If Fulham's defence is still as bad as it was last season then it could be a goal fest.
  21. No. And neither will Adams.
  22. Very much doubt it. Never usually able to find one for this round of the league cup, unless it's actually being shown by Sky/BT Sports anyway.
  23. Just watched the highlights... Tackle from Andone was shocking. How he could just sit there on Valery after attempting to snap his leg in two and plead innocence is beyond me. Deserves much more than a three match ban for that. Peach of a finish from Djenepo, but a noteworthy mention to Ings for the pass to set him up. More of this from both please. The run in behind from Boufal to set up Redmond for the second is the kind of thing we have been missing since Tadic left. Would be great if he could produce that kind of magic on a regular basis. Can't comment on the overall performance as I didn't see it. But an away win against a team we will likely be competing against for league position later in the season is invaluable, and a great way to open our points account. Sounds like our defence wasn't quite as strong as we would like, but it's a clean sheet and something to build on at least.
  24. Got one sorted now. Thanks anyway.
