£10m? I would drive him there myself for that much money. But then, I only live 2 minutes away from Bramall Lane
-
This is the guy you nutters want to impose on us as PM, because despite all the evidence pointing to the fact that he is utterly unfit to hold down any kind of job, let alone a high office, you think he is best placed to deliver your Brexit fantasies. Just how do you think he would fare in any trade negotiations with Trump and his administration? They would run rings around him FFS.
-
Utterly incoherent. Sounds like Rowley Birkin from the Fast Show FFS. My cat, who chases his own tail and dribbles all over the place, would make a better PM than this chump.
-
That was then. Your tone towards him has very much changed recently. So what's changed then Ducky? How is it that in less than a year you have gone from vigorously disliking him because he's not extreme enough for you, to being convinced he is the right man to lead the Tory party?

You can rightly claim that in choosing to call the Guardian they had their own political agenda. But your cries that only lefties have sufficiently low morals to do such a thing are negated by the publication of that picture of Boris and Carrie together at the weekend which was quite obviously also a political PR stunt. If going to the press with a story about the possibility of the incoming PM being involved in a domestic violence incident is an invasion of their privacy, then how would you describe the publication of a photo of them holding hands on apparently private property?
-
Don't know how you can say the Robinson one was unprovoked. He and his crew were harassing the guy in the street for his own political purposes, and you can clearly see in that video his body language is quite aggressive.

A pretty good job? Are you being serious? It's just a massive deflection, which then goes on to admit that they are indeed funded by Koch Industries under the guise of some apparently noble project to promote tolerance and free speech. F*ck me Hypo. I suppose next you're going to tell me that you believe the Taxpayers Alliance really are just an independent group of disgruntled taxpayers? Edit: Here's a little more insight into the motives of the Koch Foundation, which funds Spiked... https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/answer-sheet/wp/2014/11/07/charles-koch-foundations-unique-definition-of-academic-freedom/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.f0d98fa4354e

Who does?
-
Okay I see your point. But if you're looking for a reasoned, objective opinion of climate activism from Spiked, then you really shouldn't be. It has no credibility whatsoever.
-
In fairness, she was probably just responding to the question "Will you be pressing charges?" by a reporter.
-
She's already said she won't be pressing charges, so this story will just fizzle out anyway.
-
I meant their description of climate protestors in general, such as: Green protesters can do whatever the hell they like They have become almost gods in the political pantheon They are treated as dispensers of humanity-saving wisdom that the rest of us must slavishly listen to Refuse to do that and you are a ‘denier’ of their gospel truth Like I said, none of that applies to any that I have ever met. It's just an obviously biased opinion piece written by someone in the pay of the big oil-funded, global climate science denial network. They most certainly are not 'entirely correct'.
-
All of it really. I've had a little involvement at a local level in environmental protests, and the description of these people given in this article is completely inaccurate. It's nothing but a transparent attempt to dismiss their concerns and demonise them by the propaganda arm of the big oil lobby.
-
How can it be acceptable in this day and age that this needed a petition to trigger a by-election? The fact that it doesn't happen automatically following a conviction of fraud in public office speaks volumes about how corrupt and out-dated our political framework really is.
-
Spiked is funded by Koch Industries. Now I wonder what axe they have to grind with climate protestors?
-
It's not quite as bad as some people are making out, but his actions were totally disproportionate to the level of 'threat'. He slammed her against a pillar and grabbed her by the neck. If he had used a recognised technique for restraining someone that he had been trained to use correctly, there would be no issue here, but the worrying thing is that he looked completely comfortable using that level of disproportionate force against an un-armed woman. Makes me wonder if he has previous form in that respect. If he does get sacked as a result, he should apply to join a US police force. He would fit right in.

I think the point being that if we had a better opposition, they would have buried the Tories long ago and not gifted them the power to put us in the position in which we now find ourselves.
-
You mean like opening his mouth and speaking to the public? Not that it will matter anyway. There are enough people in the Tory membership who are determined to vote for him no matter how blatantly unfit he is for office, because they think he is the one most likely to deliver their magical Brexit unicorns. And people call Corbyn's supporters 'cultists'! Imagine that. Imagine being so f*cking stupid as to believe that Boris Johnson is the most trustworthy man in the Tory party to deliver on his undeliverable promises.

On you're first point, I'm not trying to suggest that keepers are being trained to cheat. I'm just pointing out that when a keeper dives to make a save during open play, their instinct is to step forward slightly rather than diving exactly 90 degrees from their starting position. So to stop themselves from doing so at a penalty is not as simple as people might think. As for the suggestion that the penalty taker may have been put off by the step off the line, I have to disagree in last night's case. From the POV of the taker there's no way she can tell if the keeper is actually on her line or not. She had already decided which way to go and had begun her backswing, and in the split second between the keeper moving and her boot connecting with the ball, there is pretty much zero chance that had any influence on whether she hit the target or not. All in my opinion of course.

In connection to alleged corruption relating to the Qatar 2022 WC bid. Who'd have thought it, eh? I'll say it again. The hypocrisy is breathtaking.

I think the original VAR decision to give the penalty was spot on (no pun intended!) and when used like that I think it will be overall beneficial in the PL next season. It was a clear foul and the ref didn't have a good enough view of it to give it, so VAR got it right. As for the retake though, I worried about this when it was announced that this was part of the rule changes for this season. It's actually very difficult for a keeper to resist the instinct to step forward and narrow the angle, because that's what they are coached to do in normal play. In the scenario last night, the Nigerian keeper gained no advantage from stepping off her line. The kicker missed the target and the keeper being a few inches off her line at the moment her boot connected with the ball had no influence on that whatsoever. To then get a yellow card for it due to VAR is ridiculous IMO. If this is going to happen every time there is a pen in the PL next season then it will ruin a lot of games. If a keeper saves a penalty and VAR shows that they stepped off their line then fair enough, order the pen to be retaken and leave it at that. To start dishing out yellow cards for it is senseless.
