As of this morning the gap is only 5 points, and we're the only team among those around us that is currently grinding out results consistently, and we've got a very favourable run of fixtures ahead. I wouldn't call 17% huge by any stretch of the imagination. The overwhelming majority of Ukrainians are opposed to Russia. An occupation wouldn't be "manageable" for Putin, it would be disastrous.
