  1. Yeah just seen that on MOTD. Absolutely baffled that VAR didn't overturn that. We would rightly be fuming if that was the other way round.
  2. They were a joy to watch today. Boufal's skill was constantly wrong-footing the Utd defence, and Djenepo's solo goal was a thing of beauty. More please fellas.
  3. BTW - that "John Westwood is a paedophile" song? Have a word with yourselves lads FFS. Childish and pathetic.
  4. He was dreadful today. I remember one occasion where a ball was played out wide and it was quite clearly his to win, but he just didn't even attempt to get his head on it and they got in behind with ease. I can't comprehend how someone as tall as he is manages to get beaten in the air so easily. His general alertness and decision making was very poor. Not a good performance at all.
  5. Yeah that's probably more likely actually. Hoj did a decent job at LB in a 4 last time out, but he's probably not suited to the more attacking wing back role. Would much rather have him in the middle with Romeu.
  6. Has Maya ever played LB before? I expect it will be 3 CBs with Hoj at LWB.
  7. They are industrious but very limited in terms of quality. Speaking to a few Blades fans at work, they are in no doubt they will struggle this season, but are rightly looking at this as one of the games they should be winning if they want to stay up. So actually there is already some pressure on them. If we put in the kind of performance like we did for the first hour against Burnley then we will have a good chance of getting at least a point. Their defence is quite solid, but they are very lacking up front. Having said that, if Billy Sharp gets on the pitch at any point then he's pretty much guaranteed to score. I'm predicting 1-1.
  8. Thank you for coming to our rescue in our hour of need Leon. The last ten years might have been very different had you not stepped in and kept us afloat out of your own pocket. A true Saints legend. RIP.
  9. Is this streamed live anywhere?
  10. What document?
  11. This is blatantly untrue. Of course it was all 'worst case scenario'. You'd have to be monumentally thick to believe that those projections were anything else. Who was saying it was all fact? And who would be stupid enough to believe that anybody actually knew exactly what would happen anyway? I agree with mrfahaji that the official remain campaign did overdo it with the negative projections, and instead should have focused more on the positive benefits of retaining our membership. But for you to re-write history and claim they were stating it as absolute fact is disingenuous at best.
  12. Aaah, OK. Gotcha. Would have helped if some other people present had called in to Talksport after the interview to put over the other side of the story I suppose.
  13. So are you saying you would accept his word over that of numerous people who have testified they witnessed him shouting foul-mouthed abuse at Saints fans and generally acting like a total bell end outside the ground?
  14. Has he ever made any donations to the Tory party, perhaps? Just wondering.
  15. Beattie and Lallana might have been a bit 'Billy big boll*cks' from time to time, but they both generally came across OK. Vardy is a different matter entirely. He strikes me as someone who would sooner stick a bottle in your face than shake your hand if you bumped into him on a night out. I would have found it very difficult to support him if he was in a Saints shirt.
  16. Of course it wasn't. If you take the outright xenophobia and anti-immigrant emotion that the likes of Farage deliberately appealed to out of the equation, remain would have won the referendum by a landslide.
  17. Weren't we supposed to be on the verge of signing Jamie Vardy from Fleetwood before he went to Leicester? I'm very glad that didn't happen. Yes, he's an accomplished PL goalscorer. But he's also a c*nt.

  19. That question really rests on whether or not he has earned one. He was once a decent cricket player, and has been a bit of an obnoxious, outspoken bell end ever since. So, in my opinion, he hasn't.
  20. In fairness, the keeper was well off his line and with VAR it would have been retaken. But as someone already pointed out, Kane puts them at a height that gives keepers a chance. At the other end, their player put his at a similar height, Pickford went the right way and got two hands to it but still couldn't keep it out. If he had cheated and stepped off his line like their keeper did then he probably would have saved it.
  21. I would add Alex-Arnold to that as well. His marking was utter dogsh*t tonight. Made their attack look much better than it actually is.
  22. When you use the word 'endure' to describe life as an EU citizen, you make it sound like it has been a massive hardship. Yet our membership has been overwhelmingly beneficial in just about all areas of life. Our economy has benefited hugely from being part of the trading bloc. Our natural environment has been protected by EU directives that you can bet your life successive Tory governments would have ripped up if they could have. Our society has been enhanced by things like workers rights which we now take for granted. So when you choose words like 'endure' to describe all that, you are making a ridiculous over-exaggeration which completely misrepresents the reality of the situation. Therefore, 'alarmist' is an accurate way of describing your choice of language.
  23. And you accuse remainers of using alarmist phraseology? You make it sound like the EU is some kind of brutal, oppressive, occupying force which has enslaved the British people FFS.
  24. It was Everton... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjkR91QEjFg
  25. Yeah the Dev Cat has been refurbished in recent years and the bar relocated to the middle, which means they just don't have the space to stock as many different beers as they used to. Still very good though. Can't go wrong with the Tap or the Rutland (they do great food - known locally as the 'Rutty butty'). If you're looking for good beer selection, try one of the True North owned pubs - The Forum, Old House and Common Room, all on Division Street, or The Broadfield on Abbeydale Road if you don't fancy the city centre. The Riverside, near Kelham Island, also has an excellent range. Nearer to the ground is the Cremorne on London Road. Smallish place and not a huge range of beer, but always some good options on tap. The Beer Engine, at the bottom end of London road, has a great range of beers but it's very close to Bramall Lane and I'm not sure about their policy on away fans. We're spoilt up here really. There's so many excellent local breweries around.
