  1. Austin hasn't been subbed at HT. To me that just shows how inept Hughes is. How can he not see that he has contributed absolutely nothing up front?
  2. When Someone finally pits in a decent cross onto the head of Austin, he completely fluffs it. We do seem to be back in the ascendancy again the last 5 minutes though.
  3. The last two seasons we have absolutely dreaded his inevitable long term injury. I'm finding myself almost wishing it to happen this season.
  4. What do these players do in training all week? Seriously. The quality of our crossing is consistently terrible, from every single player.
  5. Jeez - Hoedt put us right in trouble there. Mo gets in a good position in the box but is offside.
  6. Yep. Newcastle have ridden out our early dominance and are slowly getting themselves more into the game. We just don't seem to have any kind of shape or cohesion going forward. Everything looks like it's laboured or the players are surprised to get the ball in a forward position and don't know what to do with it.
  7. WTF Mo!? Why did you knowingly concede that corner?
  8. He made one powerful run in the first 10 minutes and now he has burned himself out. How he keeps getting picked ahead of Gabbi is beyond me.
  9. Terrible decision from Mo. He has to square that ball. Has to.
  10. Well seeing as Hoj is out with illness, I hope you're wrong.
  11. You think being hypocritical is exclusive to people on the left? Wow.
  12. That's because the only 'evidence' available at that early stage was the govt saying "we know it was Russia because, well.... it must have been!" This situation is entirely different. The evidence pointing to the Saudis is already overwhelming. They hired a body double who put the guy's clothes on so it would look like he left the consulate alive FFS...

  14. http://www.politics.co.uk/blogs/2018/10/24/it-s-official-we-ve-run-out-of-time-to-prepare-for-no-deal Tory government in "Not having a f*cking scooby what they're doing" shocker. Who could possibly have predicted that Brexit would turn out to be such an utter sh*tshow, eh?
  15. That CB pairing on Saturday was specifically picked to counter the pace of Bournemouth's attacking players. Horses for courses and all that.
  16. Wow, Lord D. You've really surpassed yourself this time. Even by your own terrible standards, this is a load of dismissive, ignorant, strawman bullsh*t. And all you've done is prove my point - you are so desperate to portray this issue as being exclusive to Muslims that you angrily dismiss the suggestion that it really isn't. And as for the idea that I would be more angry about some white lads doing the same thing because I'm a 'lefty'... Do grow up FFS.
  17. I'm not condoning anything. Whatever their circumstances or ethnic background, rapists are rapists and should face the maximum possible sentence for their crimes. Of course I have sympathy for the victims, and I despise the fact that their ordeals are being used as some sort of political weapon by the far-right. Your suggestion that the authorities might have turned a blind eye to it to appease the Muslim community may be valid, but this isn't exclusive to Asians either. What about the 'losing' of the evidence about paedophiles in Westminster? What about the institutional abuse carried out in the church for decades (centuries, perhaps?) with seeming impunity? What about the free reign that Jimmy Saville had, which was clearly well known but unchallenged at the time? The suggestion that the Asian community is given some kind of special treatment not afforded to any other demographic, which has been heavily used by the likes of Yaxley-Lennon and his followers to further a racist agenda, is false.
  18. From that article... The fact is that evil c*nts exist in all walks of life. But, unfortunately, there is a prominent narrative being pushed by people with a pre-exisiting anti-muslim prejudice that abuse of minors is much more prevalent in this community, and that it somehow proves how evil their religion is. It's clearly nonsense.
  19. He even admitted himself when he signed that this was very much a stepping stone move for him.
  20. I know he's not amazing, but I do think he has been criminally underused by Hughes. He actually looked decent when he started against Chelsea, and showed more threat in that 60-odd minutes than Austin has all season. So quite how he then gets dropped in favour of Austin in the next game is just baffling.
  21. Yep, this. Absolutely this.
  22. It's just bonkers isn't it. Yoshida, despite his faults, is our most reliable CB by a long stretch. He did OK against Chelsea, given the strength of the opposition, and now gets dropped to the bench again with Hoedt still, inexplicably, managing to be the first name on the team sheet. And Gabbiaidini showed more threat in the time he was on the pitch against Chelsea than Austin has done all season, so naturally he gets dropped as well. I was so willing to give Hughes the benefit of the doubt, but he clearly doesn't have a clue what he is doing.
  23. I'll never forget trousers' now legendary "This has got 0-0 written all over it" comment on the match thread!
  24. It's good for the short-term interests of American fossil fuel industries, but that's as far as it goes. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S026499931630709X On a wider scale, it's disastrous for the global economy, and therefore for America as well. But then I wouldn't expect any Trump supporter to be able to see the bigger picture.
  25. Yeah you're probably right, Sunderland were comically bad that day. Mannone had the worst game any PL keeper will ever have, and after number 5 went in they just threw in the towel. But credit where it's due - we put them to the sword ruthlessly.
