The main argument would be that Yoshida's presence in an offside position in the 6-yard box influenced the keeper's positioning and judgement, and therefore he could be deemed to be interfering with play.

Yeah because finding a bridge closed and then having to find an alternative route is just such a massive hardship, right? It's insignificant compared to the kind of disruption that we are going to see in coming years if we don't start acting now to protect the environment and move towards a more sustainable way of life. How do you know what mode of transport every one of them used to get there? Have you asked them all?

Yep, been following this on Twitter for a few weeks and I'm in full support of them. The time for being nice, polite and playing by the rules has passed now. The social contract has been broken and this can't wait any more. The Earth needs a massive paradigm shift, and attempts to get the world's attention have so far failed, so things like this have become a necessity.

New Brexit Secretary - Steve Barclay (no, me neither.) New DWP secretary - Amber Rudd. May really is having to scrape the barrel now isn't she.

Quite. And the leavers have the gall to accuse remainers of promulgating 'project fear.' Amazing hypocrisy.

As a Defra employee, apparently I must refrain from sharing on any form of social media what I really think of him. However, as one of the architects of this entire mess, refusing to accept the job which would actually enable him to be involved in shaping the outcome really isn't a good look for him.

You're probably right, but it would very much depend on who you ask and where. In principle, I'm not against the idea. If it's going to happen anyway then I would much prefer the UK to be part of it, rather than a minor little nationalistic island on the outside that's thrown its toys out of the pram.

Yeah I guess. That way she can say she tried her best and followed what she believed to be the best ineterests... yadda yadda yadda.
-
Theresa May right now...
-
She's in total denial isn't she. Can she really not see that this deal is never, ever going to get past parliament?
-
What actually is the point in her having this Q&A after her speech? It's just like PMQs where no matter what question she gets asked, she still just rattles off the same pre-scripted guff that bears no resemblance to a valid answer.

Which the Tories cannot do, because they would lose the support of the DUP and therefore their majority in the commons.

https://twitter.com/bbclaurak/status/1063037914412736512 Who would possibly have believed that eh? The Brexit secretary who has quit over the terms of a deal that he negotiated, claiming that it is all the fault of the EU. Didn't see that coming!
-
A compilation of all the cabinet resignation letters so far today...
-
And you're just splitting hairs. And you seem to be blissfully ignoring the period from when the EU was first formed (1957) to when the Balkans conflict started (1991), and the fact that the Balkans conflict ended in 2001, and that no member states of the EU have been at war with each other during that entire period.

I don't need to read it again; I read between the lines the first time. Let's try a different headline then. How about... "Man whose job it was to negotiate withdrawal agreement resigns from government, because he can't support the terms of the withdrawal agreement that HE NEGOTIATED". How much further proof do you need that the whole negotiation was a sham, undertaken in bad faith with no intention of accepting any deal offered?
-
Yeah I agree with all of that. But May's line has always been "the people have already spoken and we're leaving". Tonight was the first time we've heard her even pay lip service to the idea that we could still remain.
-
Anyway, back on topic... What was that statement from May all about? She said that she believes the decision is in the best interests of the country, but there has been no 'decision' yet. It was just another typical load of waffle from her that didn't actually say anything. She did, however, appear to indicate that the option of staying in isn't completely out of the question. A change of tack from her?

OK, you make a very good point and you argue it well. However, in this instance, if someone is capable of spouting such a load of ignorant, prejudicial bull**** about an entire city's population, it immediately tells me that he bases his opinions on absurd stereotypes rather than fact. So when he tries to compare the EU - the organisation responsible for maintaining the longest sustained period of peace in Europe in recorded history - to the Nazis, it's safe to say that his opinion can be ignored and/or ridiculed.
-
It's an opinion piece. I find, when reading such things, that it's useful to know what other opinions the writer has expressed previously to help me decide whether it's an opinion worth listening to or not. Don't you?
-
An opinion piece, written by the same guy who wrote this about Hillsborough. Yeah, safe to say we can ignore anything this pr!ck ever says.
-
Undoubtedly. The Brexit ideologues will never accept it, so it will be rejected before it even goes to a vote in Parliament.
-
Multiple sources on Twitter now saying that we have agreed the text of the withdrawal agreement and it is ready to be put before the cabinet.
