And then tweeted about buying a new Mercedes, then claimed that he didn't mean to and his phone did it accidentally in his pocket!

FFS Shlong - you have no excuses for not hitting the target there. That's shocking.

Long and Rodriguez running against the slowest and worst defence in the PL this season. As long as they get the right balls played through to them, it could be a massacre.

I'm watching the Derby v Sheff Weds game on Sky2, seeing as Wednesday are kind of my second team having lived up here for 12 years now. Lee Mason is refereeing and he's lost the plot - 9 yellow cards in what you couldn't really describe as a dirty game. Derby fans singing Oh when the Rams go marching in FFS. I really hope Wednesday beat them in the playoffs, because my dislike for Derby after what happened in 2007 has never really waned.

He's absolutely right. Look at last weekend's game at Goodison as a case in point - we dominated the game all over the pitch and should have got 3 points. But our lack of killer instinct in front of goal cost us 2. We haven't played badly away this season, with the possible exception of the Bournemouth game where Koeman got the formation hopelessly wrong. Our defensive shape has generally been good and our midfield has been mostly good as well. The only game I can remember where we got thoroughly dominated was at Arsenal, but thankfully Fraser kept them out that night. Aside from that our performances have been pretty good. Even the defeat at Man City we played OK and were the better team for most of the second half, but profligacy in front of goal again cost us, with Tadic wasting a glorious chance to make it 2-2 right before they scored their third. I guess next season it all depends on us having a fit and on form Rodriguez and Austin available. Playing counter-attacking football with those two in the side - one a fast and agile player who can run in behind defences, and the other a poacher with a knack of being in the right place at the right time - hopefully we will score a lot more and we won't be having this discussion this time next year.

You say that, but there was only really one game in that 6-match clean sheet run (away at Arsenal) where he really stood out. In the other 5 games he had very little to do thanks to the defenders in front of him. And when the run came to an end, questions had to be asked of Forster for some of the goals he let in (the Chelsea game for instance). That's why I'm going for Van Dijk. He has been solid and consistent ever since he signed, and not had a single bad game that I can remember.

Even if Chelsea win their game in hand, they will still only be level on points with Stoke, albeit with a much better GD (though still worse than our unless they win that game in hand 6-0)
-
Indeed. Leicester's run of form actually dates back to half way through last season when Pearson was still in charge. And we know full well he isn't exactly a tactical genius.
-
Stoke getting well and truly d*cked tonight by Spurs. 4-0 now. Keeps them 4 points and -20 GD behind us, so I would hope we will get enough points now to stay ahead of them.

I was working in Brum today, not far from Villa Park. It's a gloomy old sh*thole at the best of times, but the atmosphere today was so bad you could feel it. I witnessed two workmates have a blazing argument over who was having a filing cabinet FFS! We really, really should win this game. But I'm mindful of when we went away to Derby after they had already been relegated (1991 perhaps?) and lost 6-2! So I'm taking nothing for granted.

Post-Match Reaction: Everton 1-1 SAINTS
Sheaf Saint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Because we wasted so many chances before they scored, and should have been ahead by that point. Hit the woodwork twice and wasted a handful of other good opportunities as well. Their goal was totally against the run of play and came from a flukey deflection. -
There we go - full time. Disappointing because Everton were dreadful and we really should have won that. Interesting to hear the boos from their fans at the end. They should be cheering at a point gained IMO.

We seem to have surrendered the initiative now and appear happy to sit back and play out for the draw.
-
Absolutely all over them now. We HAVE to win this FFS. Will be a travesty if we don't - they have been awful.
-
Well that's a relief. Back on terms is no more than we deserve.
-
Aaargh! Need to get Tadic off the right FFS. His right-footed crossing is absolutely woeful! Why can't Koeman see that!?
-
For flying f*cks sake. All that pressure and possession, and they go and f*cking do that! Absolute c*nts!
-
Barkley coming on. We're going to regret those missed chances now aren't we
-
Oooooh. off the post.
-
Close free kick from Bertrand.
-
Had to be a yellow for Gibson. Long was away otherwise. Could even have been a red.
-
Decent effort from Mane.
-
Fonte injured. Yoshida coming on.
-
Need to switch him to the left IMO. His crossing with his right foot is awful. Always too deep and lofty for anybody to do anything with.
