  1. And in your warped mind that's how you win arguments is it? By proving yourself so unworthy of even debating with that people give up? Just... wow.
  2. Oh dear f*cking lord GM. Seriously???? A very quick google search reveals that this is all copied and pasted from an article on the Alliance of British Drivers website (and that's really going to be an impartial place, isn't it ) which contains precisely ZERO references to any documents or research data which substantiate the claims made in it. You sir, are a f*cking joke. You cannot debate with any degree of reason or logic which stands up to the premise/inference test. When faced with requests to provide evidence to support your claims you either ignore them or you reply with a puerile insult. When you do manage to find some evidence which you believe supports your position and it is easily debunked, again you either ignore it or just reply with spiteful ad hominem attacks. Anybody who has studied science at degree level, as you claim to have, knows that all of the this is gross bad practice and guaranteed to destroy any credibility your arguments may have. If you used valid reasoning and logic to arrive at your conclusions, and could demonstrate that logic by supporting your claims with credible evidence that speaks for itself, there would be absolutely no need for you to act like such a c*ck towards anybody who disagrees with you, but you can't. If you've got a degree in chemistry then I'm the queen of f*cking Sheeba. I take my leave of you now, as I don't see how anything positive can be gained by engaging with you any further.
  3. I'm just trying to understand how your reference to an inaccurate weather forecast from 1987 relates to your contention that the Mail article you quoted kills this thread, as if it somehow disproves the theory of AGW. If you could provide some actual deductive reasoning to reinforce your position that would be really helpful. But you have proven time and time again that you can't.
  4. And your point is what exactly?
  5. So predictable. You can't address the point with any reasoning so you just lash out with another childish insult. Are you this much of a c*nt in real life as well?
  6. Mail headline: "No, global warming did NOT cause the storms, says one of the Met Office's most senior experts" What the professor actually said: "There is no evidence that global warming can cause the jet stream to get stuck in the way it has this winter. If this is due to climate change, it is outside our knowledge." Do you not see the disconnect here?
  7. Two questions... 1. How exactly does a 2007 paper which details how a new model which incorporates natural variability improves on an old one that doesn't support your argument? 2. What the f*ck has Michael Fish got to do with it?
  8. Actually, looking at the headline of Mail article this is taken from... There are only two possible explanations for how anybody could draw such an illogical conclusion based on prof. Collins' comments. They are either monumentally stupid, or they have an agenda to peddle. Hmmm, which could it be I wonder.
  9. edit: dammit! Fell for it!
  10. I wouldn't exactly describe that as a head-butt. More of a head-nudge.
  11. Go on then, I'll bite... What we have here is a report from the Mail quoting a climate scientist stating that there is no direct evidence that the current stormy weather is a result of climate change. He's right: there isn't. As for the second paragraph - first it claims that the met office predicted persistent high pressure for the winter leading to drier-than-normal conditions across the country, then goes on to say that the model they used indicated only a 25% probability of this being the case. It then goes on to cite the GWPF, founded by none other than Lord Lawson, a man with zero scientific qualifications and strong connections to the fossil fuel industry, to reinforce its criticisms of the met office. So could you please explain to me exactly how that qualifies as a 'thread killer'?
  12. While I agree this might be good for his development and for the club in the long term, it really doesn't address the short term issue of our squad depth. If he were to go out on loan we would need to sign a replacement, and I can't see the club sanctioning that.
  13. You've changed your tune. Last week you stated with absolute certainty that we wouldn't win the cup anyway because of the quality of the teams left in it. Now you're baffled why Poch didn't put out his strongest side. Which is it?
  14. Hahahahahahahaha! I'm not normally one for picking up on other people's grammatical mistakes. But when it is in such an ironic context as this I simply have to.
  15. edit: I should know by now to read the whole of threads before replying to a single post.
  16. Just looking back through the records... Our cup final season under WGS we finished 8th (where we are now) with 52 points. 13 wins, 13 draws, 12 defeats, and a -3 GD. As of now we only need to get another 14 points from our remaining 12 games to beat this. Of those 12 games we only have to play 5 teams that are currently above us, and 3 of those are at home, with visits to Spurs and Man City the only really tricky away games. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if we get closer to 60 points and manage to get above Man Utd for 7th. That would be our best league finish since 1990. Edit: I've just noticed somebody has posted on another thread that we currently have exactly the same W/D/L/Pts record as we did at this stage in 2003. We only won 3 of our last 12 that time, and we also suffered that 6-1 defeat at Arsenal which wiped out our positive GD. I'm extremely confident we can better that this year.
  17. Wow. After 26 games (over 2/3 of the season) Man Utd have lost more games and conceded more goals than us so far this season. Who could have believed we would be saying that back in the summer?
  18. That might be their biggest problem I suspect.
  19. At least Utd didn't win. That keeps them within one win of us catching them. Good to see Spurs wrecking Newcastle's GD. Might help us out come May. If Stoke can get a late winner they will jump to 10th, but if they lose they will be 2 only points above the relegation zone - that's how tight the bottom half is right now.
  20. Is there a fire drill?
  21. Absolutely right. I was thinking the same thing reading through this thread and wondered how long it would run before someone mentioned him. MP certainly deserves credit but a lot of the togetherness is thanks to Adkins' influence. Without that I reckon we would have struggled to get promoted out of the championship as quickly as we did. I'm pretty sure that it doesn't go back as far as his predecessor though.
  22. "For me, if you take away the big boys, Southampton are the best team in this league and once again they made life very difficult for us," said Bruce.
  23. Just got home to Sheffield. Battled through a blizzard/lightning storm to get there. Tried to be clever beating all the traffic into the city, got hopelessly lost and then stuck in horrendous traffic due to roadworks trying to find my way to the ground, all of which meant I missed the first half an hour of the game! From what I did see, we were totally in control. Once we scored it was never really in doubt because Hull offered no threat at all up front in the second half. Our defence did its job so well that they didn't manage a shot at goal in the second half until about the 80th minute. Chambers did really well down the right. Looked like he really wanted it. J Rod's running was causing them all sorts of problems at the back but he never quite got the right through ball although AL and RL kept trying them for him. MOTM Steve Davis - what an engine that man has got. Ran his socks off in midfield protecting the back four, always making himself available to receive the ball and looked to get things moving forward as often as possible. Cork's effort against the crossbar/post late on was the best I have ever seen him hit the ball. One of these days he's going to get a goal. There were a few groans around me when Guly couldn't put away Shaw's rebounded shot but it came at him so quickly and he was at full stretch, he just couldn't get enough contact to nudge it past the defender who got back well to clear.
  24. Can I have tonight's lottery numbers as well please?
  25. I see Clattenburg denied Everton a pretty obvious penalty at WHL today. I guess for them that levels out the blatant one he should have given us at Goodison.
