  1. Gutted. RIP Keith. It feels like a huge part of my youth has died with him. I can still remember the excitement I felt hearing Everybody in the Place for the first time at what was then the Escape club as a teenager in 1992. The Prodigy are utterly unique in the way they appealed to both ravers and metal heads in equal measure, and Keith's on-stage persona was a huge influencing factor in that.
  2. Yeah that's my understanding too. If someone makes a genuine challenge but mis-times it and fouls the attacker then it's not a straight red, but a deliberate foul to deny a goalscoring opportunity is. That's why the ref bottled giving us the pen IMO. If he does then he knows he also has to send off Smalling, and no ref is ever going to do that after 10 minutes at OT.
  3. So who would you pit in ahead of Redmond at the moment then? Seriously, who else in our squad is capable of performing better than he is at the moment?
  4. Are you for real? Redmond was by far our MOTM today. And the defence has got a lot better since Yoshida came back in for the unreliable Stephens.
  5. Oh well. Didn't expect to get anything beforehand, and the pressure we were under in the first 5 minutes I thought it was going to be a long afternoon. So to play well and get within a minute or two of drawing was a nice surprise. Yes, it's annoying that we gave away yet another late goal, but Man U have done that to better teams than us recently, and it's not like it was a horrific mistake that lead to the goal - it was a brilliant turn and finish from a tight space and you can't really point the finger of blame at anyone in our defence. Lukaka just loves scoring against us it seems - 8 goals in 12 games! I thought Redmond was brilliant but he can't do it all on his own. We need Ings back badly cos Austin was once again completely ineffective. I thought Armstrong did well when he came on. Two very good goals - Valery's especially. Terrible refereeing. Had he given us at least one of those penalties in the first half it could/would have been a very different story. And it was inevitable he would give one to Man U after the slightest touch. Probably the right call - was clever from Rashford to stick his leg out and make sure that Armstrong contacted with him instead of the ball, but where's the consistency? If he gives that he has to give the ones in our favour as well. Very poor. At least we marginally increased our gap on Cardiff by way of goal difference.
  6. Not really. Armstrong was committed to kicking the ball away and Rashford just stuck his leg out to make sure he contacted with him instead. It was no more or less a foul than either of the ones he didn't give to us in the first half.
  7. HT. Never expected us to be in the lead and we've rode our luck a little. But v happy right now - especially with Cardiff 2-0 down. This ref though. Words can't describe how much contempt I am holding him in right now. The last time I saw a refereeing display so blatantly biased it was on Escape to Victory.
  8. This ref is an absolute disgrace!

  10. Oh my word. Yan Valery - take a bow son!
  11. No, I'm not. I'm simply asking a question. We seem to be in agreement that the two situations are essentially the same and should be treated as such. But for whatever reason they're not, and I'm curious as to why that should be the case. No, I don't approve of the idea that any particular ethnic community should be singled out to prove their humanity in this way. I think that anybody with any humanity should be appalled at the treatment of the Palestinians by the state of Israel, regardless of ethnicity or religious beliefs. But the relationship between Israel and the Jewish community is completely unique in the world, and it is easy to see why some people may be of the belief that Jews have more of a moral responsibility to hold Israel to account for their crimes than anyone else. I'm not saying I agree with it. What this Hatton guys said in his tweet can clearly be interpreted as Antisemitic, just as anyone calling for Islamic groups to disown and condemn Jihadis can be said to be Islamophobic. But why, when the latter happens, do we not see howls from the press that it is proof of institutional racism in their party?
  12. That would be my posting history which shows that I have explained time and time again that my political beliefs should naturally draw me towards Labour, but that for numerous reasons I have never felt able to fully support them, either in the past or the present. You're just making a fool of yourself.
  13. I rest my case.
  14. Thus proving that you, like Batman, only see what you want to see in my posts. I'm really f*cking bored of having to explain it now so I'm not going to bother again.
  15. Why do you keep singling me out for comment? I have made it clear time and time again I'm not a huge fan of his, but you just can't take it in can you. As far as you're concerned I'm a 'lefty' therefore I must be a Corbynista. Just another example of your constant strawmanning.
  16. How is that any different from politicians making public calls for the entire Islamic community to speak out against and/or take responsibility for the actions of ISIS or Al-Qaeda? And how many of them have ever been suspended from their parties as a result?
  17. A word of advice Angela - if you are going to quit your party citing racism, it's probably best not to then go and display outright racism when invited onto a national TV show to discuss it. https://twitter.com/evolvepolitics/status/1097484510676029440
  18. Pretty 'Meh' to it to be honest. It's hardly surprising. Not really had much of a chance to watch/read all about it yet but I caught the headlines yesterday. Reading through the comments on here I've actually found myself in general agreement with most of them. While I have a modicum of respect for Corbyn and his policies, it's obvious he's not a leader and he has too much baggage to ever be electable. He is really no more than an activist and a decent campaigner who never expected to be catapulted to the leadership. He has never been able to unite the party during a time when pretty much anybody else would have been able to wipe the floor with the hopeless May and her pathetic excuse for a government. I think Labour needs to split really. There are two opposing camps within it that will never be able to reconcile their differences. But the problem, as so many have already pointed out, is that all the time we still have the FPTP system, each faction will be too scared of ever going it alone because they would undoubtedly get obliterated at a GE. Our entire political system is broken beyond repair, and it's high time we had a drastic modernisation of it all.
  19. True, it's obvious to anyone that's what she is doing. But an actual admission of this strategy by a cabinet minister to a senior BBC journalist is surely big news that shouldn't be suppressed?
  20. https://twitter.com/maitlis/status/1095283424229765120 Which begs the question Emily... As a senior BBC journalist, why have you waited nearly two months to reveal this information?
  21. That's season 3 that was aired last year. There's still no release date for season 4 and it seems they have only just wrapped production, so it will be a while yet I imagine.
  22. My thoughts exactly.
  23. Wouldn't, or couldn't?
