  1. Legally speaking, none. You know - just like the 2016 referendum But if it gets over 17. 4m (which I don't believe it will BTW) , and it can be shown that the overwhelming majority of signatures are genuine and not the result of fraudulent interference, then it makes a compelling case for holding a second referendum.
  2. No evidence of any bot activity, and overseas signatories indicative of ex-pats signing. Reports of people being able to sign twice using same email are false. Evidence that disinformation is being spread to discredit the validity of the poll by known disinformation actors... https://britorbot.org/2019/03/22/revoke-article-50-petition/
  3. Anecdotal evidence shows this to be quite true. I remember watching some TV interviews with 'the man in the street' after the result, asking what was the primary reason they voted why they did. One guy said "to stop bus-loads of Muslims coming into the country every day". When it was pointed out to him that exiting the EU would have no influence on immigration from outside the EU, he looked genuinely confused.
  4. They signed 14 players during his 13-match spell in charge, but none of them were his signings. Right Harry, whatever you say.
  5. 1. You're not allowed to call it champagne if it's brewed in England. It's sparkling wine. 2. You might want to put it on ice for a while. The chances of us actually leaving the EU a week tomorrow are diminishing fast.
  6. Make that 2-0!
  7. And they're 1-0 down already
  8. Starting for Scotland against Kazakhstan today - 3pm UK time.
  9. Oh I know. I should have learned my lesson not to engage with him from his insane ramblings on the global warming thread. It's just that every now and again, I can't help myself.
  10. Resorting to childish insults, as usual. No, I was quoting the actual applicant in the court case - versus you quoting an article from that well-known bastion of truth and balance Guido Fawkes. And my point was that whenever the possibility of dark money and foreign interference in the referendum is raised, leave voters just stick their fingers in their ears and go "LALALALAAAA. I'M NOT LISTENING". Which is exactly what you have done.
  11. All of which is just a technicality on the basis of the fact that the 2016 referendum was non-legally binding. https://www.lbc.co.uk/radio/presenters/james-obrien/brexit-referendum-corruptly-won-but-result-stands/ But well done for further reinforcing my point.
  12. So you're dismissing the petition due to the potential for foreign interference in the result, and that's fine. But if you're going to do that, then you also need to consider the well-evidenced widescale foreign interference in the 2016 referendum as well. There was an hour-long piece on the dark money and electoral fraud that went into the Leave campaign on German TV yesterday, which paints a very dire picture of the validity of the result. But I have yet to encounter a single leave voter who is willing to even acknowledge it, let alone accept that it might have influenced the result. No, it's always - "we would have won anyway" or "we won, you lost - get over it". Edit: You only have to look at how widely the petition is being shared on social media, and how passionately some people are promoting it, to see that there is genuine large scale engagement. There may well have been a few bots involved, but this has become the most viral thing I have seen for many years.
  13. Serious revolt? In good old Blighty? I very much doubt it. There's no appetite for that sort of thing in this country, we're far too passive to take to the streets like they do in France. There will be a bit of unrest, and a few people will get arrested, and it will all blow over in time for people to get home and watch the bake-off.
  14. Doesn't really alter the substance of the motion being voted on though. And what is the point in even granting an extension if the govt is expected to pass the WA before the current deadline anyway?
  15. How about a former transfer target of ours? https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/8675811/tottenham-star-mido-faces-flogging-saudi-arabia-insulting-twitter/
  16. Maybe you should explain that to the MPs complaining that they can't have a third chance to vote for May's awful deal. Anyway, it's not about keeping on asking until you get the 'right' answer. It's about having a further vote now that there is so much more information available that wasn't even discussed in the run-up to the referendum. I don't recall a single mention of the Irish border problem by either campaign, and yet it is now the biggest single obstacle to Brexit. People were told that we hold all the cards, that negotiating our exit would be the easiest deal in history, that there were no considerable downsides to Brexit, and that it would only lead to sunlit uplands. Now that it has been demonstrated beyond any shadow of doubt how misleading all this was, the British public should absolutely be given the opportunity to go to the polls again before we commit ourselves to the biggest (potentially disastrous) constitutional change in the modern history of this country that will have repercussions for generations to come. If those who voted leave are so certain that the original referendum result was fair, above board and the correct result, then there is no good reason I can see why they would oppose having another one now that we have so many more facts available to us. To claim it is 'undemocratic' is erroneous, and IMO is just a simple get-out to avoid having to properly justify opposition to the idea without admitting that they are terrified Remain might win this time.
  17. Well then she would appear to be about the only person in Britain who thinks it's a good deal.
  18. This has aged well hasn't it...
  19. You can't be a martyr if nobody knows your name.
  20. Such passionate believers in the cause, obviously... https://twitter.com/billiebobs66/status/1107554105763995648
  21. I'm not so sure I agree. He's no slouch and he is technically gifted. He didn't look the part under Pellegrino, but neither did Redmond, and he is thriving now under Ralph. I would like to see if he can have the same effect on Boufal, because if he can then we would have some player on our hands, like a new signing with no fee.
  22. Do you think that many people who voted to leave in the referendum would be at all bothered to vote for an MEP if we ended up staying in long enough for the elections? Turnout for the EU elections has always been pretty low IIRC. But if Brexit ends up not happening, I imagine that remainers would be highly motivated to get out in numbers and vote for a pro-EU candidate. I also imagine that many leavers, based on the attitudes that I have encountered in people that I have engaged with, would be less bothered. All just conjecture on my part of course.
  23. As if he would actually stand any chance of getting re-elected as an MEP, the shameless, self-important pr!ck.
  24. I don't know, because I'm not personally making such claims. You really need to start actually reading people's posts more, instead of just deciding in your head that you know better than they do what they mean.
  25. I don't know. That's why I'm asking the question.
