  1. To those people complaining about the club's statement, I have one question... What exactly did you want the chairman to say today that would have made you happy?
  2. Would we have all run on to the pitch and stood in a big crowd in front of the home fans section jeering and goading them? I very much doubt it. I was there that evening, and while I do not hold any kind of grudge against Derby in general for it, the behaviour of the large group of fans who decided to run over to the away end and bravely taunt us from behind the safety of a police line after the shoot-out was pretty pathetic. I expect most decent Derby fans found it pathetic and embarrassing as well, as the ones I was chatting to on the train home afterwards did.
  3. No, you inferred that anybody who doesn't think it is a massive pull is mental. Big difference.
  4. The simple fact is that you, like everybody else on here, have no idea what he is thinking. All we have to go on at the moment is that Spurs have apparently made him their primary target and have offered a large sum of money for him to go there. Anything other than that is, at the moment, pure speculation. For you to presume you know that the chance to live in London is going to be a decisive factor in his deliberations is just as 'mental'.
  5. Why is it mental? What makes you so sure that 'everybody' would prefer to live in London given the choice? Personally I would hate to live in London. It's just so f***ing busy everywhere you go, full of people so completely stuck in their own little bubble or up their own a*se that nobody has any time for anyone else. It's one of the most soul-less, unfriendly places I have ever visited. What makes you so absolutely certain that Poch doesn't see it that way as well? Did he tell you himself? No, he didn't. So stop making bullsh*t assumptions about everyone based on your own opinions.
  6. Did anybody see the interview with Nick Clegg on TV yesterday? He looked a broken man.
  7. Davis to QPR for £23m! Given it's QPR, it actually doesn't sound that ridiculous!
  8. If I was a family member of one of the victims, I would be far less insulted about a search for truth than I would be about the blatant untruths presented in the 'official' version of events. You don't even have to scratch the surface of the farcical investigation carried out by the 9/11 Commission to discover it was just a total whitewash designed solely to cover up what actually happened rather than reveal the truth of it. The Commission was headed by a man who co-authored the 2000 PNAC document along with Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld et. al. in which they called for a new policy of pre-emptive strikes against those who might threaten the USA, and numerous researchers who were involved in the 'investigation' have testified that critical evidence was completely ignored or deliberately re-written when the Commission made its final report.
  9. Maybe not, but then neither does the official report from the 9/11 Commission. It's got more holes in it than a barn full of swiss cheese.
  10. I have, a few years back when I had a mini obsession with aliens and UFOs. He wrote a long and detailed report claiming that the US government has been working with 'grey' aliens at a secret underground military complex since the 1960s.
  11. The first one that sprang to mind has already been mentioned: O Brother Where Art Thou? A superb soundtrack that made an already perfect film even more endearing. Other notable ones off the top of my head, and trying to avoid the obvious.... South West 9 - Little-known, low budget British film from the early 2000s that followed a day in the life of 5 different characters in Brixton, focusing on a pair of scammers organising a free rave in an old church. Made by the same production company as Human Traffic but less mainstream, the soundtrack featured some absolute gems from house to trance to dub. The film is worth watching alone for the performance of the guy who inadvertently ingests an extremely high dose of LSD and loses the plot completely. Where the Wild Things Are - Spike Jonze's 2009 movie adaptation of Maurice Sendak's classic children's book, which I absolutely adored when I was a kid. The soundtrack was written and performed by the lead singer from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and just fits so perfectly with the atmosphere of the film. Deathproof - A poor film by Quentin Tarantino's standards, only really worth watching for the lap-dance scene, but as usual he got the soundtrack absolutely spot on to match the feel of the movie. He has a unique ability to take old, obscure songs and, by including them with certain movie scenes, making them seriously cool. Who else could get away with including a track by Dave, Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tish in a film about a psychotic stunt driver FFS!?!?
  12. No, people need their fix. A more useful suggestion would be to restrict everyone, whether registered user or full member, to a maximum of 3 posts a day until the season kicks off in August. That way you wouldn't have to trawl through page after page of hysterical, speculative, doom-laden drivel just to find the occasional decent, balanced post. Just a thought.... Mods...?
  13. Sorry mate, with a username like that you are completely banned from this thread
  14. If the reason for their departure is performance-related, I very much doubt that the club would take this action without having already identified and approached replacement staff who will improve on their predecessors. If that turns out to be the case then I will start worrying about the ability and direction of the board, but not before. The fact is we simply don't know at this stage what the board's motivation is. It could be that they are both guilty of some sort of misconduct that left their positions untenable, and until we have any more detailed information (which I doubt will be immediately forthcoming) then I will reserve judgement.
  15. Shouldn't Jesus Perez be in the middle? ;-)
  16. I just can't see it. If MP leaves for a bigger club it will be one that is already in the CL next season. He clearly doesn't want to be in the Europa League otherwise he would have tried much harder to get there with us instead of putting out a severely weakened team in the cups. Add to that he is much more suited to a club like ours with a strong emphasis on youth development rather than a club like Spurs who will spend big and then sack the manager when it inevitably backfires on them. It doesn't make any sense to me, but then PL football exists in its own universe where sense and sanity are irrelevant. So I expect an announcement soon then.
  17. It always is though.
  18. And they wouldn't be able to do this during the lap of honour because....?
  19. A draw was probably a fair result. We had them pegged back for most of the 1st half but they were probably the better team in the 2nd. I'm signing off from this forum now until August, as I don't think I want to read all the hysterical, speculative nonsense about the future of our manager and star players. Have a good summer everyone.
  20. Now they have a long conversation about England's RB problem due to the injury to Jones, and completely ignoring the fact that there is an excellent young English RB currently on the pitch, and another one just coming on.
  21. God these commentators are w@nk.... "The game is there for the taking for Utd now". They have certainly improved in the 2nd half but we are still matching them IMO.
  22. Well unless West Ham can get 3 goals in the next 20 minutes, Man City have won the title.
  23. Gallagher about to come on
