Bit of a harsh booking for Bedders. He got the ball and I don't know what Mike Dean thinks he is going to do with his trailing leg.
-
Jeez! How slow was Stephens to react to that!? Should never have got that shot away!
-
Outside the box and the taters don't even reckon it was a foul. However, given the refereeing f*ck ups that have cost us against Watford this season and last, it should have been a penalty and a red card
-
Should have been two!
-
Pretty obvious they have identified our right side as a weak link.
-
Indeed. Despite being out for 4 months Lemina showed himself in the 45 mins he was on against Newcastle to be a far better option in that position than JWP.

Leeds 2-0 down at Brentford. Looks like Sheff Utd have the upper hand now in the promotion race.
-
Pompey 0-1 Coventry. Always liked Coventry

Are you confusing this with the moment in the second half where Gunn made a very good save after a horrible deflection? What I was referring to was the ball going out of touch on their left before the ball was crossed in for Perez. Looked like it was a good foot over the line to me and everyone around me.

Haven't seen the highlights yet but from where I was standing it looked like the ball had clearly gone out of play in the build up to their second goal. Did they pick that up on MOTD? It's disappointing we didn't get anything because we certainly had the chances in the 2nd half but we gave ourselves too much to do with that poor 1st half display. T They only got into our box 3 times in the 2nd half. First time they hit the post, second time it took a wonder save from Gunn after a tricky deflection, and the third time they scored. Frustrating, but thems the breaks - it was the other way round when we beat Wolves last week. It will still take a pretty unlikely collapse in form for us to go down from here, so I'm not too worried. I didn't have this one down as a must-win game anyway.

Just off to get the train from Sheffield. What pubs are people heading to before the game?
-
It's in the Daily Fail and it just says he is "in the frame", with no sources quoted or even hinted at.

Prior to the Wolves game, I predicted 2 wins and 2 draws from our remaining 6 games to be certain of safety, and we've already got one of those wins. Another win and 2 more draws would put us on 41 points. Anything less would represent a pretty unlikely collapse in form, especially given our fixtures. Not a chance that either Cardiff or Brighton will surpass that. If Cardiff do pull it out of the bag and stay up, it will be at Brighton's expense and not ours.
-
I wouldn't, their current form is woeful. They have lost their last four games without scoring a single goal, and their defending against Bournemouth at the weekend was comical. Looking at their remaining fixtures, you really can't see them winning any of them. Newcastle at home is their only realistic hope of getting any points.
-
I haven't seen last night's highlights yet, but judging by the goals they conceded against Bournemouth on Saturday, if they defend like that against Wolves they will get ripped to pieces. Looking at their recent form and their remaining fixtures, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't manage another point. They are in total freefall like Swansea were this time last season. I reckon Cardiff will only need one more win to overtake them, and they *should* get that against Fulham.
-
Brighton would need to win by 5 goals or more to go back above us.
-
Looked deliberate to me. A clear, unnatural movement of his elbow towards Torreira's face. The rules is the rules.

Yep, avoid Scunthorpe like the plague. I've been there once or twice for work and it doesn't have a single redeeming feature. In fairness, neither Mansfield or Burton are particularly nice places either, but both are like shining emerald cities compared to Scunny.
-
Not really. Shane Long is currently sitting on 2 in 2!
-
Man City in 2000 Norwich in 2011 Saints in 2012 I make that three in twelve. So not really that uncommon.
-
We have lost fewer games than anyone else in the bottom half, and the same amount as Leicester who are currently 7th. Unfortunately, we have also drawn more than any other club. If we could have converted just three of those draws into wins (the 0-0s against Bournemouth and Newcastle spring to mind, as does the disallowed Austin goal costing us a win against Watford, and the more recent failure to hold on against Burnley), then we would currently be sitting above West Ham in 11th.
-
Could we finish in the top half of the table?!
Sheaf Saint replied to SaintJackoInHurworth's topic in The Saints
I would be surprised i if we were to finish any higher than 13th now, but you never know. None of us expected that Koeman team to win the last 4 games and sneak into 6th in 2016. -
No I can't see them dropping points either, but City still have a couple of trickier fixtures including a derby at OT, which is by no means a gimme given Utd's upturn since Ole took the reigns.
-
Liverpool score twice in 2 minutes to take a 2-0 lead. That will annoy a few people on here I'm sure.
-
If Cardiff don't beat Brighton in midweek then the final relegation place is all but nailed on. They would need to win all 4 of their remaining games to have any chance of overtaking us. This will be my first ever visit to SJP, and my first game since the cup final two years ago. I'm really hoping that with both teams virtually guaranteed safe from relegation now, the pressure will be off and it will be an open and entertaining game.
