  2. The circumstances are somewhat different though aren't they. Potentially two referendums should always have been the way to approach it from the beginning. Even arch-Brexiteer Jacob Rees-Mogg said so in a speech to parliament a number of years ago. Had remain won by a landslide (as I presume Cameron expected) then that would have been the end of it, at least for a few years anyway. A win for leave, or a marginal result either way (like 52v48 in favour of remain, for instance) should have then lead to a consultation period where all the options are assessed, and when the actual implications of leaving were as well understood as possible, take it back to another referendum so that people could vote based on much more solid information. If we had followed this process, and the end result was leave, I would have no problems accepting that result. Brexiteers can perhaps rightly point to the moaning and complaining about remainers not respecting the result, but in many cases the desperate attempts to cling on to this very small majority that was achieved in an extremely flawed process are just as nauseating as the protests from the remain side. If it goes to a second referendum, and the result is still leave, then that's it - we leave. I won't be happy, of course, because I still stand by my decision to vote remain, but I will fully accept that this is truly the will of the people. If the result is a marginal win for remain, then it's important that we acknowledge there are still a lot of people in the UK who are unhappy about our EU membership, and we need to find a way to work together to overcome the deep division that this issue has caused. FWIW, I think the result of a 2nd referendum would be very different. Last time, it was the leave side who had everything to gain and had more motivation to vote. I know a few people who didn't bother voting because they were so complacent and sure that remain would win, they didn't think it was even worth it. That won't happen again. We also have to consider the average ages of people on each side and that a lot of people who voted leave in 2016 will have since died, and a lot of teenagers who were prevented from voting last time will now be old enough to vote.
  3. Who are the three suspended players then? Hojbjerg, Valery and ..????? Edit: Of course, it's Austin isn't it.
  4. Theresa so desperate to garner support for her atrocious deal that she is preparing to tell blatant, outright porkies in her Stoke speech today. Is anybody surprised? https://twitter.com/stephenkb/status/1084602078419476482
  5. It wasn't obvious, even on the replay, but it looked to me like there was the slightest clip of Valery's foot as well as the shoulder contact. Anybody going full pelt and caught on their standing foot is going to lose their balance and go over. So I don't think he dived, but I can also see why the officials didn't think it was worth a penalty either.
  6. The sight of those oh-so-brave Derby fans flooding onto the pitch to goad us from behind the safety of a line of coppers in the 07 playoffs still irks me. Would be good to exorcise that at SMS on Wednesday.
  7. That's my understanding. He isn't cup tied as such, and would be available to play against Accrington if we beat Derby, but because he wasn't registered as part of our squad when the original tie was played he's not eligible for the replay.
  8. Alright, fair enough everyone. It just looked a little odd on the face of it, and I'm sure Alex himself would tell you he is disappointed to have let it in.
  9. Mostly to do with being lazy, unfit and only 5ft6.
  10. I played in goal at 5-a-side level for a number of years, and I don't recall ever diving to make a save without waiting to see which direction the ball was going, except when facing a penalty. I fully appreciate that the 'fault' for the goal lies with the defenders who left Ndidi unmarked, and as soon as the ball came to him you expected him to score. But McCarthy’s little sideways flop before he had even made contact was just odd. And it's not the first time recently his actions have been questionable either. Luckily it didn't cost us any points yesterday.
  11. I can't be bothered to click on every one of those links, but have they actually received any bids for any of those players?
  12. Yeah I thought that too. Ndidi basically miscontrolled the ball and Mccarthy just fell the other way. But you tend to get flamed on here if you criticise him. I make that 3 games in a row where he has conceded goals which, arguably, he should have done better with.
  13. Sims can't play because he has come back from loan since the first game, and I gather only players who were registered to play in that game are eligible for the replay.
  14. No, neither has Cabbage Face.
  15. Can't agree with that at all. He was involved in a lot of our decent attacking play before the sending off, and had two half decent chances early on, shooting just wide each time. Unfortunately he was the obvious choice to be hooked and replaced with Cedric after Valery lost his head, as we needed to keep a pacy forward (Redmond) on to give us an outlet when defending backs to the wall.
  16. Could really do with Chelsea smashing Newcastle this evening to stop them from overtaking us and hitting their GD.
  17. Not sure. Didn't we beat Everton with two own goals a few years back?
  18. Down to the bare bones, everybody concerned about that starting lineup, player sent off in the first half, and still we won. Have we finally found some resilience and mental strength at last? Can't complain. When it was 11v11 we were the much better team. We defended really well (except for the scrappy goal), and looked like we had a proper gameplan. Lots of positives to take from that.
  19. YESSSSSSSS! How did we win that?
  20. 4 mins. Might as well be 40.
  21. If anyone fancies it, Bet365 are currently offering 100/1 on Leicester.
  22. You had to didn't you
  23. Commentator: "I don't think they'll be selling many nail clippers in the Southampton area!"
  24. The 4 minutes of injury time away at Swansea last season for me.
