He must. But he won't.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?

For once I am in complete agreement with you. In blocking Burnham he put his own interests before the party's (and the country's), and losing the seat to the Greens is squarely on his shoulders. -

Every single word of this could also be applied to antisemitism. -

But that's no different to how the Israeli government use accusations of antisemitism to shut down legitimate criticism of their treatment of Palestinians though. There will always be bad faith actors who will use similar tactics. To focus criticism of it in the context of Islamophobia without acknowledging that is disingenuous. -

While this is true - I have huge misgivings about all organised religions myself - you know full well that in the case of the word Islamophobia, it's not actually the religious framework of Islam that it refers to. -

No. It means an instinctive aversion to something, rather than a fear of it. When something waterproof is described as hydrophobic, it doesn't mean it's scared of water. -
Their current predicament is down to Chansiri, but their financial problems go back much longer than that. He bought the club in 2015 but they have been grossly mismanaged since the turn of the century when they were relegated from the PL with massive debts. Living in the city I know quite a few Wednesday fans, and I really sympathise with them. Barring a couple of promotions from L1 and getting into the Champ playoffs a few seasons ago, they've had such a rough time over decades now. As for Hillsborough, it's almost embarrassing how much of an eyesore it is for the city now. It's such a run-down, dilapidated shit hole and really should have been demolished and replaced a long time ago.

He once came and visited a company I worked for in Salisbury in his role as trade envoy. We were given a long list of rules such as "do not approach or speak to the prince unless invited" etc... He gave off an air of the entire exercise being beneath him, and would ask people questions then walk off before they even finished answering. I have absolutely no difficulty believing that he is, indeed, an absolute cunt.

What about if we partner him with Camer...... Oh, never mind.

That is actually how it is pronounced in Japan though. https://www.howtopronounce.com/japanese/matsuki

I don't remember that. But then I left after the 3rd goal went in and went to meet some friends in the pub.

Indeed. To concede 5 against an xG of 1.5 is beyond bad.

Well I guess it's difficult for her to be the legal owner of any kind of property, given that she has been dead for over two thousand years (if she even existed in the first place, of course).

It's obviously St Mary's, because it's named after St Mary's Church, as in the church OF St Mary.

I've just watched the highlights cos I missed the third goal last night. Really good finish from Matsuki after Walsh parried the shot from Leo. I think we all know where that would have ended up if that had fallen to Fellows.

Last time I went to watch us play at Hillsborough, we lost 5-0 under George Burley. Wednesday weren't even particularly good on the day, we just completely crumbled in defence and gave away some ridiculous goals. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/7076446.stm At least we can safely say there is zero chance of that happening again on Saturday.

I don't see anything wrong with that. If QPR had scored the third goal to make it 2-1 then it could have been an entirely different story, but going 3-0 down so early in the second half obviously killed their entire plan and after that it was one way traffic.

Hideous. Far worse than that horrific pink third kit we had last season.

Aiming to do the Steel City quadruple with a win here. I'm wondering how their now confirmed relegation will affect them mentally. Sometimes in that situation, when the pressure is suddenly off, teams can spring a surprise on you (I'm thinking of that time we went and lost 6-2 to Derby after they had been relegated). But I don't think there ever was any pressure on Wednesday because they've surely known since the moment they got their points deduction that they were never gonna stay up. On paper it should be an easy win. But I've been watching Saints for far too long to take anything like that for granted.
-
You're right. I thought that was only 4-0 but was misremembering.
-
But what about the third half that Alex watched? When did that happen?
-
He had a few shaky moments in the first 15 mins or so, but after HT they didn't offer any threat at all and he was able to just meander forward without having to worry about defending.
