Wasn't an attempt to trip. They both went for the ball, Kane got there first and got a shot away, but then had his foot caught on the follow through.
-
Great effort from Foden. Unlucky.
-
Still waiting for a replay of that but it looked like he was offside when it came through to him.
-
Surprised the ref changed his mind on that TBH. There was contact but it didn't stop Kane getting his shot away first. Although I suppose you could argue the foul action prevented him from being able to get the clean strike he would have wanted.

What exactly was Mbappe complaining to the ref about after Spain's first goal?
-
Shocking defending from Spain for that goal.

I've never seen him play myself, but my nephew has played against him at U21 level a few times and reckons he is up there with the best he's ever played against and going to be some player. Given how accurate he was about Lavia and Livramento, having played against them both previously, I'm inclined to take his word for it.

I joined in an all employee Q&A session with our new Secretary of State today. Nothing groundbreaking and plenty of tempering of expectations, but a solid performance and a repeat of the promise from Starmer that policy will be driven by data and evidence rather than dogma. His first full day on the job, and already we've had more engagement from him than we ever did from any of his 3 predecessors. Promising signs indeed.

I imagine it's significantly harder to find suitably qualified women's managers than men's.

Yep. It's a thing of beauty. Would be really happy with that. So of course it won't be.

He's living the dream. Maximum earning for minimum effort. He's only human, after all.
-
Except for two crucial goals, yeah no difference at all.

Whereas if you address the socioeconomic issues that cause people to turn to crime in the first place and invest in people's futures, you can achieve the same effect without the need for extra prison spaces.

I wouldn't be so sure. They're clearly vulnerable at the back, if we can play to our strengths and exploit that.
-
Being run ragged now. If we do manage to win the shootout it will be undeserved IMO.

What more has Schar got to do to get a second yellow FFS? That's at least 3 he should have had by now.
-
Walker kicking off at Southgate by the looks of it.

Meh. Not great but an improvement on the Slovakia performance at least. Switzerland have looked really threatening in previous games and we've neutralised that threat. Still not looking mega dangerous going forward, but staying patient and waiting for the right moment worked alright for Saints in the playoff final.

Maybe Charlie Austin. Never one to refrain from voicing his opinion. And the saying "it takes one to know one" springs to mind. Edit: I see Sambosa has already confirmed this.

Very much the 2024 version of Danny Fox. An attacking LB who played an important part in our promotion, but whose poor defensive qualities will be ruthlessly exposed in the PL. Seems a great lad and all that, but there's no way we should be relying on him next season.

Did Liz Truss really try and claim that the Tories' 14 years of failure was all the fault of the previous Labour government?
-
That's not an image I wanted to wake up to 😬

OK then Turks, I'll bite. Taken purely on face value, what he says about people being judged purely on merit rather than skin colour / sexuality is a noble thing to strive for. I genuinely look forward to the day that no such biases exist and everyone is treated equally regardless of their background. But you know as well as I do we're nowhere near there yet. This is basically no different to the "actually, ALL lives matter" response to the BLM movement. While not untrue, it is just a convenient way to ignore the immediate reality of the challenges currently faced by minority groups without appearing overtly discriminatory. And as that subject has already been done to death on here, I'm not going to engage in any further debate about it. However, the one thing that can't be ignored here is who it is that's saying this. If anyone is stupid enough to actually believe anything that comes out of the mouth of this shameless grifter, and that any government including him would actually result in a genuine level playing field for everyone, then they obviously haven't been paying any attention for the last decade or so.
