I can quite easily point out what he is good at... He has good positional sense and is always looking to move the ball forwards. He has a good range of passing and seems to understand his role in the team very well, making himself available to receive the ball in tight spaces. There was one particular passage of play against Blackburn where he showed good strength and tenacity to win the ball back high up the pitch and keep an attack going. As for only being in the team because Tonda knows him from the U21s, that just doesn't stack up. If that were the case then why did he immediately drop Barnaby Williams back to the U21s after he put in an OK showing in that one game? Why is Bragg the only player he has promoted and kept faith with? Believe me, you were not the only one who could immediately see the many flaws in Bazunu's game. It was obvious to anyone who has ever watched football at any level. You do, however, appear to be pretty much the only one who thinks Bragg is shit, because the vast majority of posters can recognise his strengths. Will he go on to be a top player? Well that remains to be seen. But for now he is making a really good contribution to a team challenging for promotion from the Championship. So your assessment of him having a L1 ceiling at best is wide of the mark I'm afraid.

Surely there are some more recent members than those three, but I'm struggling to think of any right now.

Yeah and you could tell when they picked Archer to do it last night it really meant something. The squad obviously recognise that he's had his struggles this season (to say the least) and that he thoroughly deserved the plaudits for his performance, and he clearly appreciated it as well.

Indeed. 3 months ago I'd have happily seen the back of all of them, so to see the consistent high performance levels we're seeing from them currently is nothing short of miraculous.

I respect the fact that you took the time to draft such a lengthy response to my question, but you still didn't actually answer my question which was: what specifically is it about Bragg that you think makes him L1 standard? I'm asking again because from my perspective he had another excellent game tonight, showing a great maturity for his age and playing a (literally) pivotal role in an all-round good team performance. So I'm absolutely at a loss to understand what areas of his game you think are holding him back.

"Not exactly the Krypton factor is it" 🤣🤣🤣

MOTM. Good lad - really pleased for him.

Would another goal for Pompey be too much to ask for?

Arrowed into the corner!

Massive wake up call that is.

Oh how the fuck did he miss that!?

AND Scienza.

Great work by Bragg to win that back and keep the attack going. He's having another very good game.

We need to start running at those players who were booked early on. Feels like we haven't exploited that weakness enough really.

If someone had told me after we lost 4-0 at Boro in January that we would be above them with 4 games remaining, I'd have checked them into rehab. Absolute madness.

Just watching the highlights. Watch Larin looking totally confused when the second goal goes in. If I could post GIFs it would be the classic John Travolta one from Pulp Fiction.

No shots on or off target from Blackburn.

Fuck me. Celebrating a Saints goal AND a Pompey goal at the same time. Does not compute!

Well now, this is.... Hmmmm. I really don't know how I feel about this 😐

We should be out of sight here.

Also - big shout to Matsuki-san for that perfect through ball to Archer. That's something we don't see from him when he's stuck out on the wing.
