  1. Well at least we have done our due diligence this time and not signed someone who isn't actually going to play. But where does this leave us in our GK search? Surely the club would have had a suspicion that this might happen, given his injury record, and would have a backup option. Surely? SURELY!?!?!?
  2. A MF of Downes and Les as a double pivot with JWP in a more advanced role would be a great deal better than what we have witnessed already this season. He would only be competing with Fernandes, who's still very much unproven in the PL.
  3. It was so obvious as well. Forest had done their homework on us and were pressing high up. Every time we tried to play out from the back they had their entire front 6 in our half trying to close off those passing lanes, and we simply played into their hands and inevitably gave away possession too easily. With them pushing up so high, it was crying out for us to change things up occasionally and play the ball forward more quickly to bypass that press, which would have pushed them back a bit, but the dogged adherence to the system just crippled us. It was naive from RM. I hope he learns from it.
  4. Well the second half was much better, but there's still a glaring lack of quality in MF and attack. I thought Dibling looked excellent when he came on. His driving runs will cause all sorts of problems for opposition defenders. I like Smallbone, but he was way out of his depth today. Fernandes looked decent enough. Edozie really needs to work on his final ball. Such a frustrating player. A shit goal to concede, having actually defended OK until that point.
  5. Why is Smallbone still on? He's so obviously such a weak link today.
  6. Terrible giveaway from Smallbone there.
  7. That should have been 1-0.
  8. That's bollocks. Flynn's foot was no higher than the Forest player's and he won it fair and square.
  9. What we need is one of those trademark THB long balls to Arma to bypass their high press.
  10. Well it didn't last long. It's 3-1 to City now.
  11. Completely unnecessary. Saw him flying in and there was only ever going to be one outcome.
  12. Forest pushing really high. When we have possession at the back they have 5 or 6 players in our half. We need to find a way to exploit the space behind that leaves.
  13. Soccerstreams100.io usually has a load.
  14. Got one of those and know how to set up the app. I'm just looking for a provider. There's so many out there it's impossible to know who to go with without a solid recommendation.
  15. I'm considering going down the IPTV route to watch this. Can anyone recommend a decent provider?
  16. It wouldn't surprise me at all. It's well known that corporate lobbying by the sugar industry suppressed research into the harms of refined sugars in the 1960s, and successfully convinced the western world that fats were the real problem. This led to the rise of ultra-processed 'low fat' foods, which contain an insane amount of sugar to compensate for the lack of flavour caused by the removal of fats. https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/09/13/493739074/50-years-ago-sugar-industry-quietly-paid-scientists-to-point-blame-at-fat It really wouldn't surprise me if the same people who carried out this act of global vandalism on public health in the name of profit also had major interests in pharmaceutical companies as well.
  17. Everton down to the bare bones already... https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/czjyv9jpky3o
  18. Not quite true. You have £7m plus an £18m asset (that could turn a tidy profit in future). The only reason the full £25m in our pocket would be better is if we had a cash flow problem, which we apparently don't. SR are obviously playing the long game on this one.
  19. All depends how the deal is structured. If we sell them Alcaraz for £25m then sign Hugo back from them at £18m on a 3 year contract, then that means we're only recording a £6m outlay on this year's books but receiving the full £25m for Charly, resulting in a £19m 'profit' for this year as far as FFP is concerned.
  20. Agreed.
  21. I thought schools didn't serve that shit anymore after Jamie Oliver's campaign against it? They certainly don't at my daughter's school anyway.
  22. Obrigado Giuseppe. No meed to apologise - your English is better than many regular site users! 😅 Looks as though he is good at receiving the ball in tight spaces and making an accurate pass to a team mate, which is exactly what our manager wants from his players. I hope Alcaraz is a success for you. I always liked him and it's not his fault that we changed manager and drastically changed our system after he signed, meaning he didn't quite fit despite his obvious quality.
  23. You must have a dodgy look about you.
  24. Could say exactly the same about motorists really. Seems like every time I ride my bike I have a near miss with some twat who thinks that simply being in a car gives them the right of way.
  25. I really wanted to believe there was more to come from him, but it wasn't to be. He has some talent, but without the necessary application that's not enough. Some of his 'performances' last year were just unforgiveable. Was it against Coventry when he came on as a sub and basically just jogged around near the halfway line doing literally nothing. Clearly not cut out for English football, but I hope he goes on to have a decent career in France.
