I genuinely think this happens these days when they're so used to not flagging instantly.
-
A save at the near post from Macca. Isak was offside but no VAR.
-
I'm fairly sure this team is more than capable of finding ways to give the opposition the ball already.
-
I don't see there was ever any potential there because he simply doesn't have the most basic skills needed to be even a half-decent keeper.
-
Probably for Matt Beard.

Who doesnt mind not getting promotion this season?
Sheaf Saint replied to OldNick's topic in The Saints
I don't want us to get promoted again while we are still owned by SR. They will only completely fuck up the necessary recruitment again and we'll just have another season like 24/25. If that means staying in the Championship for a few more years and losing some of our current assets then so be it. I feel so utterly disconnected from this team right now that I wouldn't miss any of them. Until we have ownership that has even the slightest clue about how to build a TEAM, I don't want us anywhere near the PL. -

I wonder if he's still sticking to his insistence that Baz is perfectly fine for us in this league.

I've just watched the highlights of the Pompey v Sheff Weds game on Saturday. Wednesday, despite being an absolute clusterfuck of a club with barely enough senior players to make up a matchday squad, play much better attacking football than we do. It's fucking embarrassing how poorly Still has got this expensively assembled squad performing.
-
Yeah but stats are meaningless, so Whitey keeps telling us. It's purely coincidental that Gav keeps finding himself at the bottom of these tables season after season. Just really bad luck and nothing whatsoever to do with his actual ability.
-
He may well go on to become a decent manager one day, given his age and the fact that he has time on his side. But it's starting to become obvious that he is the wrong man for us at this moment in time. Yet another in a long line of failed SR experiments. I don't think we can afford to give him any more time if we're serious about mounting a promotion challenge this season. It might well 'click' for him at some point. But by the time it does it will be far too late for us to salvage the season. The only problem with getting rid now is that I have absolutely zero confidence in the ability of anyone within SR to identify the right replacement.

This is the depressing reality of it. Even without great tactics and organisation, we should have enough quality on the pitch to still, occasionally, dig us out and get something. The fact that we're so badly set up that this doesn't appear possible is 100% on the manager.
-
Macca already played a blinder in the last round against Norwich. He made 3 or 4 really good saves, of the kind that Bazunu never does, and was of course promptly dropped for the next league game.
-
Oh he will though. Because there's no way SR are going to let him leave on a free after the amount they've invested in him. So we'll undoubtedly give him a 2-3 year extension in the vain hope that he will improve over that time* and we can recoup some of that £12m. * which of course he won't, because so fundamental are his flaws, like reaction time and positional sense, that no amount of experience or coaching is ever going to improve those aspects of his game.
-
Indeed. Probably have to go back to Ralph's time in post when we would aggressively press to win the ball high up the pitch and then play a quick ball forward to Ings. I miss those days.
-
Just wait til you see the first one.

Spot on analysis. There's no coherent transition from defence to attack. Nobody is taking the responsibility to get us up the pitch and when we do have it in our own half with opposition attacking players behind the ball, nobody is making intelligent forward runs to receive a pass. So the man on the ball dithers about while he decides what to do with it, which allows the other team to regroup and get numbers back. Every. Fucking. Time. There was a moment in the second half today when we did find ourselves on a bit of a counter because Hull had committed a few players forward. We got it to the RW position and all it needed was someone to play a clever defence splitting pass because we had players in the middle who were well placed to run on, but Roerslev (I think it was him) just stopped, waited, and then played the same predictable pass back infield while the Hull defenders got back into position. We're never going to score if we keep doing that over and over. It's infuriating to watch.
-
So... Will Will Still still be Saints manager by Christmas? On current evidence, no no he he won't won't.
-
Bree even managed some half decent performances in last season's horror show. He's limited, but fairly solid. Roerslev looked alright in his first game for us but has regressed badly since then.
-
I think this part of your post could be interpreted in multiple ways and still remain valid.
-
I still can't get my head round how shit he was for that first goal today. The header has no power in it whatsoever, but his reactions are so mind bogglingly bad that by the time he got down he had no chance of making what should have been an easy catch, and just threw his hands at it in a blind panic with absolutely no idea where it would end up. I've seen better keepers than him at my local 5 a side centre. It really does beggar belief how someone at Saints decided he was worth the £12m we paid for him.
-
Not sure about that. Their sole intention seems to be profit from player trading above anything else, including actually providing any entertainment for the fans. I'm fucking sick of it now. I hate watching this team. That's what SR have done - they've sapped all my love of following SFC to the point that it has now become nothing but a chore. They're a bunch of incompetent, soulless wankers and I cannot wait for the day they finally sell up.
-
Totally consistent with SR's record of rewarding failure.
-
After the embarrassment of last season, we needed a manager who could come in and make us a much more solid defensive unit. Still, seemingly, is not that manager.
-
What the fuck was that from THB? Is he trying to get himself sent off cos he can't be arsed today? 3-0 now. Absolute fucking shitshow. Hull had conceded 14 in 5 before today and we've created NOTHING, and gifted them 3 awful goals through the most pathetic defending you could imagine. Bunch of utter useless cunts.
