  1. It's not though. Christianity (or Islam or Judaism come to that matter) does not own the institution of marriage - it existed long before the bible was written. This is why the argument that "marriage should be between a man and a woman because that's what it says in the bible" doesn't wash.
  2. I have yet to see Into Darkness, but this was almost word-for-word my criticism of the 2009 film. If you take the Trek-specs off and look at it as nothing more than a big-budget sci-fi action movie then it works really well. But the success of the Star Trek series (IMO anyway) was that despite the fact they are based on a fictional, fantasised possible human future, they all had a certain amount of realism about them. For example, the series all paid attention to maritime tradition and military command structure aboard all of the ships / stations. Yet Abrams' first film brushed all of that aside with the frankly ridiculous notion that a cadet who had been suspended, marooned and who then carried out a mutiny could then forgo the years and years of hard work and unblemished service that would normally be required to be given command of Starfleet's flagship. This is something that simply wouldn't happen in any sane organisation anywhere on Earth or otherwise.
  3. I honestly don't know. I haven't spoken this mate of mine for a few months (since I was last in Southampton) and I didn't realise he was even in the process of selling his house to Morgan, but I have no reason to disbelieve him. I know his house is worth a fair bob after the massive extension he built on it a few years ago. It's in a very desirable part of Bassett, and although it is quite small in comparison to the kind of gated mansion that you would normally associate with a PL footballer, it seems perfectly reasonable.
  4. Yes. A large and expensive property in Bassett.
  5. Don't shoot the messenger here. I've just seen this Facebook update from a mate of mine...
  6. Like Morgan Schneiderlin perhaps? (provided we keep hold of him over the summer that is). Although I can understand why it was given to him, I think having the captaincy has proven to be a burden for him and it has shown in his performances when wearing the armband. I firmly believe that the captain of any team should be a hard-working, battling type of player - which Lallana just isn't. His propensity to just complain to the referee when he gets brushed off the ball too easily (as he does far too often) and his repeated failure to track back and help out defensively are two attributes that a captain should never have IMO. It doesn't set a good example to the other players around him.
  7. Much as I hate to admit it - I actually agree with most of what he is saying. But he couldn't resist putting his own DM version of negative spin on it could he.
  8. Finished above 3 of our ex-managers
  9. Would have snapped your hand off for 14th at the start of the season. And to think, because of how tight the midtable was this year, one more win would have put us up to 11th. I do think the squad needs some major changes before next season though. The nucleus is there, but for all our pretty possession football this year we have really struggled to penetrate at times. We never seem to break quickly or play a quick ball forward to a runner, and that is something that you need in your arsenal in the PL. Defences are too good at this level meaning we will always struggle with our seemingly favoured approach of slow, patient build up.
  10. Decent effort from Puncheon.
  11. Mayuka on for Corky.
  12. J-Rod did well there but the finish was weak.
  13. Here comes Owen. Is it written in the stars he will score?
  14. WBA 2-5 Man Utd
  15. Oh hello. I've missed you!
  16. What exactly was that from Davis?
  17. What's the ref given there? He got in the way of the rebound coming back to one of our players and then gave a FK to Stoke???
  18. Will 50 nuns do?
  19. Oooh. comedy defending from Stoke there.
  20. Punch coming on for AL it seems.
  21. Oooh, got a bit lucky with our goal it seems. Looked like a handball from Fonte, but would have been harsh to penalise him for it.
  22. WBA 2-4 Man Utd
  23. That's his first goal in over 9 hours of play? Really?
